Description Hi everyone.
This is an illustration of the two main characters in my graphic novel project Reflections Through Time; Alix and Annabelle.
Originally I was going to call this picture Connections Across Time, but in the end I decided that calling it Reflections Across Time would be more accurate since they communicate through the mirror.
Please take a look at this video, to see how I inked this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBrC0g…
Thanks, please let me know what you think of my artwork!

Hi I am commenting on behalf of .

First I would like to say that I really like your drawing and really any artists who uses pen and ink as the main medium in their work.  The reason why I have so much admiration is because ink is so unforgiving and mistakes are hard to hide so the artist either can't make any or they are very good at covering them up.  Either way I could never draw with ink as I am a mistake making machine and have a close personal relationship with my eraser.

Your drawing impresses me also because of the amount of detail you have in the drawing.  You've created so many varying textures and shades it really gives the drawing a great feeling of depth.  You've done a nice job of composing the picture as well keeping the girls circling the mirror and drawing the viewers eye right to that center of the action.

If I would change anything it might be to lighten up on the dress a bit. A little more contrast within the dress would help give it a feeling of weight. In my opinion it is a little to dark. Also the mirror doesn't seem to be very reflective.  I would have drawn a few lines to indicate glass.

Everything said was said from the heart. Nothing was meant to degrade or belittle.

Other than that the drawing is wonderful.  So well done and filled with imagination.Keep up the fantastic work.

Hey there, I'm with #projectcomment .

I really like the concept of this, and the way you've done the inking. I think the combination of crosshatching and the smoother greys works well. Getting contrast between textures can be difficult, but you've done a pretty good job of it (especially with the pleated skirt!). The one spot that the texturing looks a bit off is the sleeves...maybe you could emphasize the wrinkles a bit more?

The most prominent issue I can see is with the anatomy of the girls, specifically their legs. They're a little short on both of them, and with the one I can see more of, (Alix?) the distance between her hips and knees should be longer. And at the elbows, it sort of looks like the inner bend is offset from the outer angle...it's more noticeable on the lower girl.

Other than that, the only thing that catches my eye is the circle-things in the corner. I can't tell if they're supposed to be an actual quarter circle, or more teardrop shaped.

Overall, it's a pretty neat picture. Keep up the good work!

Hello!
Thank you so much for your detailed critique >u< I'm really happy that you liked the crosshatching because it is something I enjoy doing.
I agree with the anatomy. It is something I need to practice on! I hope I can improve with that in the future.
They were supposed to be circles but in the end they did turn out more oval shaped xD

And thanks again; I'm happy you like my artwork

Lovely textural details! From afar they look really nice and polished, and when you zoom in you can see that they are actually quite rough. It's interesting, though. Their bodies look broken a little bit, but great job overall
