loll tbh at that part I couldn't take it 100% serious cuz my sorey and mikleo were wearing shades xD;; I was thankful for that cuz I would have been A LOT more sad (was already pretty darn sad)

yeah LOL it was so awkward. i was really sad yet those shades i was like trying not to laugh cause they looked funny. yeah i bet ;www; i teared up during the scene regardless, cant imagine how bad i would have felt without em....

Yeah I suppose so but sometimes fanstuff just doesn't do it u 3 u
Zestiria was so short compared to the other games too aaaa it left a huge void
I was really hoping it'd have a lot of cool stuff from the world guidance or novels or something like the other games, but it didn't even have that I was so disheartened
at least there's the anime...and it's ufotable..! I guess I can't complain too much 
aaaa I can't wait for next season !! Go Shihna shrine music time!!

Yea I know what you mean. I like to make my own stuff and that's how I deal with it, but yeah ;w; the game did feel pretty short, like hardly anything really happened? idk lol

yeah T_T; I sure hope people will scan/translate the manga cause I wanna see it all (Mikleo is too cute in the manga hehehe) I've only seen the first two volumes online so far. but yea the game left me with sooo many questions i hope the anime will answer them all!

yeah, though tbh I kind of don't mind it being short because I think that is part of what made it so easy for people new to the series to hop on board
but compared to the older tales games I feel like where it really lacked was in delving into the background of characters besides Sorey and Mikleo
Everyone had sidequests, but like Zaveid's second mystic arte for instance, his was so subtle and short it was almost easy to look over

The same goes for the cute seraphim couple that heldalf ruined when he turned the guy into Tiamat aaa Do you remember them?
You can see them on field at various locations just saying that they're done worrying about the problems of the world and just want to spend life enjoying eachother's company. Heldalf took the guy and forced him to turn into a dragon by putting him in the middle of the war. Later after the Tiamat fight, you can find a dragon puppy? I forgot the name they localized it too omg. At Glaiven Basin. After the fight it's inferred that the girl that was with the guy turned into the dragon puppy in despair at the loss of the guy but Sorey and crew really don't ask her about what happened or even try to help her it seemed like
I guess I would have liked to see them try to resolve things a bit more
(tbh I've been really hoping they can show up in the anime. I want them to have names so I can search up fanart of them rip)

But I really loved the end for Zestiria (ignoring the dlc that will probably never get resolved) it's probably my fav tales end tbh. It was so good

I hope the manga gets translated too!!! Though I'm kind of reluctant to read it,, Not that I doubt it's going to be beautiful and amazing, I'm just not ready for the sad stuff I'm weak rip
But if you have questions about Zestiria I might be able to answer them! I'm a huge nerd so I read up on a lot

yes I do remember them! that was sad T_T I didn't see all their dialogue but I did notice that they were a couple and he was made into a dragon...so sad. lol I loved "dragon puppy" sounds so funny xD

the ending was really amazing, definitely my favorite part! I totally agree with you, the whole final boss encounter was just amazing and emotional. I think it was the best in the series owob

It wasn't stated word for word in the game but it was SUPER hinted - particularly in the original text

Like in that Lastonbell night scene when Sorey explains his plan, he says that as long as he never forgets his promise to explore ruins with mikleo, then it will come true one day. This is a reference to the fact that when you become a seraphim you will remember things you feel strongly for. In reply Mikleo says he'll wait for him no matter how long it takes (kiraleshoot.tumblr.com/post/10… )
And again in the sidequest where you get Mikleo's second mystic arte, Mikleo says he forgot what he was going to tell Sorey. In the localization Sorey kind of brushes it off, but in the original text he asks "tell me later?" (I lost the source for this one ;w; )
Basically in both these instances, they sincerely believe there will be another chance they'll see eachother despite the fact both the seraphim and sorey believed they would "die" in the final fight. (A little off subject, but I also personally interpret that Mikleo's "I forgot" sidequest is a reference to how even if you forget things the feelings are still there and speak just as much, which is the key to Sorey remembering his promise)

There's also the fact that Mikleo falling down and being caught was a total callback to the start of the game where Sorey caught him before they fell into the Mabinogio Ruins
While writing this, I also thought of another thing!! idk if you saw the trailer for Berseria but it shows someone who gets sacrificed and later becomes a seraphim. In both that instance and the one where baby Mikleo was sacrificed there's like this line of light that goes to the sky; You can see that same thing with Sorey in the alisha DLC 

So to end things I will say the canon novel 100% confirms it!
First the novel says that the last thing Sorey told Rose before leaving her to fight Heldalf was "see you later" (in the game its muted out) - another instance where he believes he will return
But at the end the novel states clearly that the person Mikleo saw was unmistakeable "And then, for the first time in hundreds of years, he called his friend’s name."

(This makes me wish Rose could have been reincarnated too but based on the wording of the epilogue it doesn't sound likely ;n; )

So to be fair, the localization actually kind of covers up the fact Sorey and Mikleo expect to see eachother again, which would have made it more clear the guy at the end was Sorey
The only reason I can think that they covered it up was to tone down the homo vibes rip

ahh wow that's awesome! I never played the DLC so I never saw the light thing. did the DLC ever explain how Sorey survived all that time in that weird space to purify Maotelus? I think they said it'd take hundreds of years or something so I was a bit confused about that part

and yeah i dont get why people automatically think it is supposed to be gay >.< I have an older brother and we are super close like Sorey and Mikleo, and the whole game I just related to my own relationship with my brother. (we even brofist/high five after boss fights lol) I feel like a lot of people don't know what it's like to have a super close friend/sibling and that makes me sad ;w; but oh well haha

I would hope Alisha reincarnated as a seraph she was such a sweet and pure girl. but yeah ;w; probably not huh?

I did get the vibe they'd meet again -- I mean, I knew that Mikleo knew he'd see him again, but I wasn't sure if Sorey was a seraph or just kinda awakened from a stasis-type thing.

but man the end made me happy but also a bit sad? (not really sad I guess but...) I thought of how I'd feel if I didn't see my brother for hundreds of years and he suddenly came back. like wow, the feels man xD

The DLC doesn't really explain it, but I'd guess it could be something like how a human hellion's body can live on even passed the point the human should have died
Only in Sorey's case, he's not a hellion
But basically after things settle his body will definitely be dead, but he'll be reincarnated to become a seraphim

But yeah, going by the novel epilogue Alicia, Sergei, and Rose all died as humans It wouldn't be the same with anyone missing..

Basically the reason a lot of people interpret Sorey/Mikleo as being canon is because the two are honestly treated the same way as most other canon tales ships
It's subtle but there are hints to it. Moreso than any other Zestiria ship anyway
I mean waiting an eternity to see someone is pretty much a romance classic. It happened in Abyss too. You never really see it happen with characters who are just friends/family
And there are also some skits that hint it (moreso before localization again) like in the free dlc one where Zaveid asks if there's anything romantic going on between them and Mikleo says "you're the last person we'd tell" (jeredu.tumblr.com/post/1327785… ) and Sorey comparing Mikleo to a sauna babe when Zaveid says they should go babe hunting
The creators have said some stuff that seem to hint it as well like calling Mikleo "唯一無二の存在" to Sorey
and confirming that there was no romance implied between Sorey and any of the females of the game (I think I read that Baba was aiming for this different look at chivalry - like he wanted to emphasize Sorey was pure and trying to save the day not to win over the girl)

But basically Sorey and Mikleo are the most important person in eachother's lives and kind of complete eachother.
Like there's nothing to say it's not totally platonic and non-sexual, but I think it's fair to call it love at the very least
I mean why would you wait an eternity to spend your life with someone unless you loved them, right?
But I can totally understand thinking that's awkward if you compare them to you and you bro lakjf It's kind of different when blood relation is involved
But honestly the healthiest relationships are those between best friends. Love is supposed to be when you want to spend the rest of your life with someone, and who better than the person you have the most fun with and get along with most
But again, it's okay if you want to interpret them as just friends since it's never been stated plainly. Especially if you go by the anime so far since the last ep of the season seems to be leaning towards Sorey/Alisha
Like even if it is canon, I don't think they're ever going to 100% confirm it because Japan is really conservative, so that could spell trouble

I dunno, I don't really see it at all. especially after the anime ep. wasn't there a skit with Sorey thinking Alisha was cute or something as well and blushing? i definitely see it as Sorey is meant to be pure for sure though.

Yea, I feel that way about my brother too (most important person, complete each other, etc) we are incredibly close and basically can take on the world together. since the two were raised together as babies, really points more towards sibling relationship to me. I love my brother, there are many kinds of love -- doesn't have to be romantic love is what I am saying. I think a lot of people assume romantic love > all other types of love. and yea I agree, my brother is definitely my best friend. no one will ever know me as well as he does! I would wait an eternity for my brother to come back, because without him it's like I'm incomplete.

just, an unbreakable bond. that's why I really enjoyed Sorey and Mikleo's relationship, cause they were such good friends throughout it all.

I think people will just see what they want to see, whatever they can relate to the most -- since nothing is canon, I definitely wouldn't see it that way haha. it's all speculation. Tales games are usually all about the power of friendship (and a lot of Japanese media in general imo) anyway, so that's just kinda what I am used to seeing.

yeah it's interesting how they are really showing Sorey/Alisha in the anime. I think it's a cute pair, but kinda starcrossed lovers thing. it'd be a bittersweet story if they went more into it...but maybe too sad for me hehe. they could never have a romance anyways since Sorey puts the safety of the world first like a true hero! but I kinda feel like Alisha was meant to remain in the game till the end and they changed it later on ... because the shops sell spears all game o_o which I thought was weird. upgrades every new town, despite having no spear-user

but yeah, it's definitely awkward xD I think blood doesn't define/guarantee a bond though, nor does being raised together. most siblings I know do not get along, and even if they do they aren't as close as my brother and I.

I guess in the end, they want it to be left up to the player. but with the anime changing things up, I am not sure. it's like they are making the anime with the unused ideas they had from the game? I really like the anime more than the game so far lol.

idk I guess my personal interpretation of romantic love is wanting to spend your life with someone (like in contrast to eventually moving apart as with families and friends) and that's how I interpret their promise in the end,  but as you said, in the end it really is personal interpretation!
My bro's my best friend for life too, so I know what you mean. It's okay u v u
All I'm saying is, there's really enough material to back them up as the main ship of the game, so I think it's easy to understand where shippers are coming from

I think the anime is trying to take a different angle at things where the game got criticism at
Like the hugest problem people had with the game was how Alisha was treated
It all started with how she was falsely advertised as the heroine, but in the game, it's also inferred she has no real close friends, and even though it's painfully obvious she wanted to hang out with Sorey more because he was practically her only friend, he was totally oblivous to it
The anime not only gave her some close friends in the knight squad, but it also had Sorey go out of his way to say even if they do go their separate ways they'll be together forever by making her his squire
So yeah! The anime is so much nicer to Alisha. I'm so grateful
