I have tried that. They always make my hands really sweaty. Either that or they make me look like I'm about to commit a crime when wearing them, in which case I am asked that I stand outside every store, or get patted down before entering.

Oh, that's a pity to hear. Maybe it would be worth claiming that you have freezing hands all the time. So wear winter gloves all the time. I bet even in Summer they wouldn't look any wrong at all.
