March 2009-2010, coloured pencil on grey pastel paper~~~ This drawing is for sale - note if you are interested ~~~
I started this drawing last March and finally, over a year later, finished it. I'm no longer quite as pleased with it as I was to begin with (and I'm so not using pastel paper ever again...) but it means a lot to me to have finally finished it, despite still being in the same bad emotional and artistic place I was a year ago. Finally one thing I can stop feeling guilty about...

It's beautiful. Really. I can't imagine what it was like working with the medium, as I'm an awful artist, XD but I think it came out amazing. Definitely worth the year you put into it. <3

Working with that paper was a pain. The pigments kept coming off, even after the layers were so thick, the (rather heavy) grain of the paper wasn't visible and I had sprayed it with fixative. And then I originally wanted to let some of the greyish-blue of the paper shine through as the water, but that didn't work either...
