Description
Well this was one that I massively over-complicated and probably could have done it better if I didn't decide to put in just so fricken much. Anyway, I was given a prompt of "draw a psychic animal" and decided to draw this. I actually had 90% of this in mind at the outset even as I was still working on the previous drawing. But then added the sleeping fox on the left and thte books on the right to fill the negative spaces of the drawing. But for the over-complicated, the very first thing I drew on this image was the greek symbol Psi. And then also drew the fox with the similar symbol in mind. And when I was drawing the other objects for balance I realized that I had three things in the back that form a triangle, and countered by three things in the front with a triangle. And there's an object I really like where you can take four rings separated into 3 equal parts and they can actually combine perfectly into a singular shape. And so I went about and adjusted the drawing to make that symbol be in the drawing as well and all told probably spent about 2 hours just trying to make that particular shape work.

Admittedly, the rings actually probably detract way more than actually contribute to the drawing. it obscures the Psi symbol as well as the shading and instead makes the eyes focus on the three front-halves of the three colored rings (specifically chosen as CYMK in contrast to the RGB ribbons). Similarly you probably can't tell but the eyes are also RGB with a small shader of the floating aura placed overtop to make it look like they're glowing, but with the yellow and cyan rings, that's obscured. But having spent 2 hours trying to get the rings to look right there was an issue of sunken-cost fallacy. Overall I think the effect looks really good, but at the same time I think it could have been better with less going on. Total drawing time of 9 hours
