My ears twitch back as I can hear something heavy coming up from behind us and I turn my head slightly to look behind me and see a Chesnaught cresting the hill before pausing a moment to rest its hands on its knees as it tries to catch its breath.
“Oh good, both are still here,” I can hear him pant.
“You’re late!” the Lucario shouts back.
The Chesnaught grunts before going back to barreling down the hill. “Lumen, do I look like I have quick attack?”
I am a bit uncomfortable being boxed in when I don’t entirely know what is going on but this has given Maria the opportunity to regroup with us. She also eyes the Lucario warily.
“Friend of yours?” I ask.
“Of course, do you honestly think I’d be trying to help hunt down criminals all on my own?” Lumen says before gesturing at Maria, “You have your partner and so do I. The bounties on three Rocket members as strong as they are should be more than enough to feed the two of us for a month if you don’t mind me taking your shares. And I do definitely thank you for whittling down their numbers for us.”
