Of course there is another reason to head back to the bag and get rid of this towel, and that is that she’s slightly inconvenienced by holding it. Granted she probably could use it as a makeshift club, however soft it would actually be, but she can't exactly run that fast with it. So Michael keeps her ears constantly twitching one way or another, though she can smell a few things that might be rather tempting to try and eat later on. Another of the downsides of this time of year, food is not nearly as plentiful. There are still some berries that do seem to grow year round, as evidenced if nothing else by the fact that there are many pokemon in this forest and most are not known to migrate or hibernate. If anything, that Xatu being here means there is enough food to sate their needs. And yet even though she was trying to stay on guard, the thought regarding forest diets in the winter distracted her enough that the rustling in some nearby tall grasses startles her, causing her to jump back a few feet and hold up the towel defensively.
