A very bittersweet ending. It seems to say, "I've got places to go, things to do, a world to explore, and adventures to enjoy. I know you'd probably love to come along, and I'd let you, but.... your road ends here. Mine goes on."
Makes me want to do my own 30 day challenge in writing. Or, if I were more skilled at it, actually try to draw myself.
Godspeed, Knight. Here's hoping our paths cross again sooner than later. I'll have the coffee and doughnuts waiting.

Been there, done that a number of times. Since they say a picture's worth 1000 words, I've had little 1000 word writings over thirty day stretches. I've come up with some good stuff. Check out my scraps.
If you can show me the list of themes for your pictures, maybe I can give that a try to re-work my writing muscles. And I'd be happy to work in the Knight in them. And coffee and doughnuts.
