A turntable of my character Emi
Shes a character for my animation project this semester 
I might upload her bunny plushie some other time
Modelled, animation and rendering done in Maya. Texture drawn in photoshop. Composited with aftereffects and then format converted to swf with flash
Oh I just remebered... Ive never even posted her design sheet yet LOL. Ok will do so soon...

I love her! Her design is brilliant and her cheeky wink is great. The only thing I don't like is the shininess, it makes her look like plastic. I'm ok with the coat being like this since it's man made and her hair but the skin looks a bit unnatural. I suppose this might be the look you were going for though.
Well anyway, overall it's wonderful.

I'm not sure if others have asked, but how did you animate the face? (Eyes blinking, eyebrows raising and such.) And is the hair simple polygons as well?
I've always found that style for facial expression really interesting, I think you made it work incredibly well.
A beautiful model, and so shiny! Did you intend for the specularity or are you planning to edit that at some point?

Well I'll get the shiny bit out of the way first lol. I have a specular map for this model actually, but for what ever reason at the time I didn't apply it to my model as I rendered. And I didn't really mind the outcome either lol. Will include it in the final render tho, since it has raised a few brows with the shininess lol.
The hair is polygon. cbf doing alpha map stuff, even then I dont think I can get the look that I want for this style anywys.
the eyes and expressions are blendshapes, i would do a cluster rig, but cbf either LOL. Got lots of stuff to wokr on this year, so whatever works and works fast is good for me

I have a suggestion on the rendering of this its about the cut of the rotation I think it will look better of you remove that black frame so it will rotate flawlessly. But everything else like I said very awesome modeling and coloring.

Ahh that weird black frame is only here when the swf refreshes itself at the end of every turn cycle. Its not on my proper renders.

lol my tutor said he wants to take all the 3d models from ppl in our class and make them into figures with this machine at our uni XD; I wonder..how its gonna look...

Thanks lol. Yep it was modelled in maya. I think the animating bit took an hour or so.. It was just making her breath so its ok XD;

Hmm.. I'd say the actual working time is about a bit over 2 working weeks? XD; I did this throughout the course of a month, but I've been on and off it randomly because of distractions lol...
