Description
My very first Zbrush Sculpt in which I explored the fonctions of the software. Then I exported the model into Maya where I rendered him with displacement map in mental ray. I think it's not too bad for my first. This giant lizard is a boss named Kraid in the video game serie ''Metroid''. C&C are welcome.Related content

Hi, I know you submitted this back in late 2009, And let me tell you It's really AMAZING work.
Let me speed things up, I'm part of a Brawl hacking community known as KCMM.
Model importing has been made possible for quite a while now.
You may know Brinstar Depths is a stage in Melee, and that it had Kraid in the background.
Another user is making the melee stage at this very moment, but the model for kraid is not as good as this one
So I would like to ask you:
Would you happen to still have the maya or zbrush files?
And, If you do have the files, do you think you could send those file to me?
You'll be given credit, and I'll be sure to put a link to your dA

Zbrush is mostly a sculpting program, it's used to sculpt high poly models that can go over millions of polygons. Some people also use it to do the color maps (like in this case)

Awesome model and render! I envy you because I can never get displacement to work in Maya after exporting. The only thing that bothers me are the size of his eyes, especially the middle one, it seems too big, but other than that this is awesome! His snaggly teeth turned out really well, too. It makes me want to do something in ZBrush! XD

If you are having difficulties with displacement in Maya, I suggest you look for an artist named Scott Spencer, he did a tutorial posted on Zbrush Central that explains it really well (he also published a sculpting book where he explains it too)

I guess I should tell you what I think of each part of the model: Shape, lighting, etc, but screw that; this is awesome and that's all there is to it. ^_^
