Species: Human (but is now a ghost/spirit)

Weight: since he's a ghost, he weighs pretty much nothing

Bio: Ryu was born premature, with two older brothers who were both a few years older than him. Due to complications for several years after he was born, Ryu went completely deaf when he was around 3 and a half. His mother had his eldest brother, Lucas, when she was in her early twenties, and six years later had Nathan. Ryu was born 8 years later. His mother was a single mom, whose father had left before he was born. Both Lucas and Nathan had the same father, but Ryu was born to a different dad (this is getting confusing).

Due to being a single mother to three children (and his medical issues), Ryu's family had financial issues, and his mother worked three to four jobs at the time. She was out of the house a lot, and when the three weren't at school, Lucas was basically in charge of the family. She rented a small, cheap house that was very close to a railroad. While the sound bothered his family, Ryu could only feel the train going by and didn't mind that much. He liked watching it go by most days.

His brothers, especially Lucas, would keep a close eye on him usually, but one afternoon while they were both occupied, Ryu spotted a strange multi-eyed demon near the rain tracks. He ran outside, and saw that the strange animal was attacking Lucas, and he ran outside to see it. The monster started going after him, and chased him onto the train tracks. Ryu couldn't hear the train coming, and they were both hit by the train and killed. As the demon died, it teleported his body and soul into Wisayumei. His spirit (and his toy T-Rex) tumbled away from his body from the impact, and he has idea that he's dead, since he never saw his own corpse.

Personality: Ryu isn't afraid of new people, and he'll try to talk to whatever new person he meets. He gets excited easily, especially about his newfound 'superpowers' (just the fact that he's a ghost). He likes helping people, and is kind of just a typical 7 year-old kid. If he sees that he sees he's bothering someone he'll usually walk away, and is pretty sensitive (so don’t be mean to him or you'll have to deal with a crying kid).

Due to the fact that he's far away from home, and he's never been away from his family very long before, he's pretty homesick, missing his brothers and mother. Because of his deafness, and the fact that not all people know sign-language, Ryu gets frustrated easily by the communication issues. He’s likely to get upset if it takes more than a few tries to understand/be understood by someone. The easiest way to talk to him is with sign language, and then with pictures/writing. He’ll read lips if he doesn’t tell someone he’s deaf/if he’s just watching in on a conversation, but he can only read one person at a time.

Fishy: his plush T-rex that he was given at the hospital during one of his many visits when he was younger. Fishy isn't a ghost like Ryu is, he's a solid push. Ryu calls this toy ‘Fishy’, because calls pretty much anything with scales fish. Since T-Rexes are all scaly and lizardy, he calls the fish, therefore this plush is Fishy.

Comunication: Ryu learned ASL during school, and can speak in sign language fluently. His siblings and bother never really learned sign language, so after learning how to read/write early, he learned how to read lips almost as fluently as his sign language. If he's having trouble expressing something, he draw it out/write it down (as a ghost, he can still do this if you give him some paper and a writing utensil). While reading lips, he needs to be able to see someone's face and lips clearly to be able to understand them. He can also read notes people give to him, though being young he may have some trouble reading, so pictures work too. He's able to talk, but his voice will be either too loud or too soft sometimes, and he tends to mumble. He can read people emotions pretty well.

Ghosty Abilities Because spirits are visible at all times in Wisayumei, Ryu doesn't have to spend any energy on staying visible. This means he is able to use less energy to pick things up and talk. He can touch people, and pick things up that he could normally pick up when he was alive (so he can pick up Fishy and smaller things, but he wouldn't be able to pick up a huge rock or something like that). Due to being ever so slightly solid, Ryu can't phase through things, and if he bumps into something he'll dispere like a mist for a few seconds and then come back together (if you really wanted to, you could probably stick your hand through him, but he would really rather you didn't do that).

He can float a few feet above the ground, but he like walking normally (on the ground). If he's not paying a lot of attention, he'll be walking a couple of inches above the ground.

Likes: watching the train, Fishy, drawing, playing with fishy, exploring around new places, other people who know sign language, dinosaurs, pandas

Dislikes: people who get mad about his not being able to hear/people who make no effort into helping him understand them, Tizuka, big animals, the dark

Favorite Food: vanilla ice-cream

Reason for Tizuka picking him as an NPC: he didn't

Goal in Life:to get back home

Locations you can find him in: He likes to hang out in Ume Desert, near the rock formation in the middle of it. Sometimes he'll wander towards the camp, but he mostly avoids there because of Tizuka. He rarely ever goes to the Spirit forest or Timeshift Meadow. Due to the sudden influx of people living in Wisayumei, Ryu will probably wander closer to the camp more often to get to know the new people.

Extra Info:

-Unlike the little spirits in Wisayumei, you can talk to Ryu at any time of the day

-He has no idea that he's dead (and probably will not believe you if you tell him he is)
