My final project for my Art 335 (History of Graphic Design) class.

In a nutshell, the assignment was to design the cover of a manifesto, in which you created your own "design movement" using the concepts of curvilinearity (curving lines and motion) and rectilinearity (straight lines and motion).

I took it literally, and named my movement "Humanus" which is Latin for 'human'. I've always thought the human body had both "straight" lines and "curving" lines or forms (literally our skeleton/bones would be 'straight', our organs, nervous system, and blood would be 'curving'), but one can't exist without the other.

Similarly to design, where sometimes one idea can not exist without the other.

Other deep crap behind this piece but I'm too lazy to try and make it intelligible. The large worm-like thing protruding from her stomach and around her leg is her large intestine.

Inspired by Art Nuveau movement and Alphonse Mucha prints. Also a bit of old Japanese prints in there as well. :] If you look closely, you can see her ribs on her corset, and her face has the imprint of a skull.

My goal/assignment was developing the actual concept itself, and not the skill-level that went into it (well it was important, but you know what I mean).

Hope you all like seeing something a bit different from me.
