Description
Vine and compressed charcoal on 18 x 24" Strathmore 400 series paper. Recycled paper too. :3Time: 6+ hours over a period of two days
Assignment: Still life using three white items.
Objects used: Styrofoam skull, white matte framing, white ribbon. Objects propped against white canvas that's covered with a semi-transparent white cloth.

Done for a homework assignment for my studio drawing class. x_x; This is my first still life since senior year of highschool (3 years!!! I'm old...OTL), but I'm pretty proud of it.
The jaw on the skull is off...he looks like he's got MAJOR overbite, blarghh. Not going to go back and change it though, bahahaha.
PROOF THAT I CAN DO NON-ANIME WORK! 8D kinda...
I really don't like still-life. xD But I love working in charcoal, so...I guess I had fun doing this.
I'm sure you guys can tell that I did the skull first, then kinda pooped out the rest of it because I was so tired/done with this assignment after the skull XD

I love the skull , I have a skull (Its not real XDDDD) that sits in my room , Ive tryed to draw it (cause I have a love for bonesssss :3) and it failed XD

I remember my first charcoal drawing in a summer art class. I finished it, looked it over, then thought with certainty "I need to stop doing acid, because charcoal sketching is a bad idea that I could only want to try when I tripping balls."
I don't think that's the case for you. The skull looks like it's missing a row of teeth, but other than that, not that bad. I really like it, Mika. A fine step away from the anime works. :)
