Ayato Kamina from RahXephon. And the RahXephon's egg. Please view in full if you don't mind, the small image resembles crap a little too closely.
Many things have been said about this anime, one in particular is how it's all just a bad copy of Evangelion. But I like it, so bleh.
Tried mixing my drawing style with a little airbrushing and blurring for effect, I kinda like how it turned out. Hopefully it isn't too dark on your monitors.

Excellent work. Character design is fairly loyal to the orignal (although that isn't too hard, considering). The effects on the RahXephon's egg are a lovely touch. it respembles script, but is far too regular.
The colour scheme is a little ruddier than in the show- lighter tones would be used, not bloody overtones. Still, the glowing effect is lovely.
Ayato looks as though his torso is triangular, though - it appears as though he tapers off into a fine point - perhaps a touchup of the anatomy mightbe in order.
Also, what's so terrible about RahXephon mimicking Evangelion's storyline. Stupid fanboys may not realize this, but each series complements each other - RahXephon's idealism critiques Evas disfunctionality, and Eva's cynicism offsets RahXephon's starry-eyed idealism. While one may have a preferred series, it's stupid fanboy wankery to brush off one series entirely without consideration.

oh and there's something i've been meaning to ask...what does "have an orange" mean? geez, it's probably glaringly obvious and only i don't get it. sad.

It's sort of an inside joke between me and my friend Jason. The line comes from a song called "Magic Eye" by a group called Solar Fields. Anyway, it's one of those really mellow, spaced out kinda techno songs. We determined that in a state of near sleep, anything said in a song like that sounds very deep and meaningful, cos it's almost always about something mystical or something anyhow, but waking up afterwards and hearing it again, you realize it's the most ridiculous thing you've ever heard, but thought was like an epiphany the night before. This particular line was:
"I woke up and had this... strange organic object in my hand... object.. in my hand...in my hand...Never seen anything quite like this before... before... before... It opened its eyes... and looked at me and said: 'How about an orange? How 'bout an orange? How bout an orange...'"

erm, personally i think the best anime of all time is fruits basket. ahahahaaa 
but to stay on topic, yeah, i enjoyed watching rahxephon more than i did eva. i liked how the story was told, and the art and the colors are beautiful, plus the dubbing was good too. and thanks, i appreciate the comments
