The water of the ocean repeatedly slipped forth and back on the sand at the edge of the fairground of Kalawa City. The beach sucked all the water up and therefore the sand was hard and cold. The cool breeze from the sea was a welcome change after all the excitement. Iwalani walked along the beach and her feet sank down a few centimeters at every step. The trail she left behind would be soon erased by the next wave.
The costume contest in which she had taken part was over, unfortunately, it was only enough for fourth place but that bothered her not so much, later when she would bring Rune to the fairground in her Night Furry costume people would not believe their eyes and will enjoy the show of the black Asotu for sure. She was about to go and pick Rune up when seagulls flew along the beach, always looking for food that residents or tourists may have had lost. She did not understand why these birds were so unpopular, they are great aviators and also look very pretty, she thought to herself. Then something in the back of her head knocked on her door! Birds! She remembered the message from Rava she had recieved in the morning, her phone chirped. She had completely forgotten about this, quickly she opened her back and searched her cell phone to see what he had written.

"A Surfer, two dancing women, a sun and a whale. What the fuck is this supposed to mean? Gosh Rava, can't just just type what you want to say?!"
Iwalani shook her head. But there was more. Again, a whale and a dolphin, a man with a big belly, and this time even an elephant. "What he's trying to tell me? Is he just visiting an animal rescue center? What does the whale mean? Large, heavy, water, diving and dolphin stands for joy, society, jump. Mmmm... A big belly ... he's gorged or pregnant , and the elephant also stands for large and friendly. What should ... ?" Iwalani paused.

In her mind's eye images jumped backwards and forwards, and suddenly she had an idea. She ran off to another location on the beach on which stood an Application station. She walked past the queue of people waiting to be able to register and asked the guy at the desk "Hey, sorry that I barge in like that. I'd just like to know if someone participated here today at the Breaching competition. His name is Rava, his Asotu is Korsha. Great brown and grumpy both of them. So was they here? "
The guy raised an eyebrow but then flipped through a stack of application notes. "Yes this man was here, I saw him and his Asotus jump. The jump was not that great but there was neat splash."
"Oh God really? Gosh he tried tell me that he came and I forget his message. I have to tell him that I'm sorry, it was an accident. He should not think badly of me" Iwalani pondered what should she do now, where could she find him? Is he perhaps already at home, she thought.

The guy of application station laughed "Say that to him, not me. He stands back there and watched you since you passed him." Iwalani turned quickly.
There he was, actually quite normal as always, he stood there and stared at her. The friendly man recieved a "Thank you!" from her before she slipped through the crowd to Rava, but when she suddenly stood befor him she didn't knew what to say. "Emmm ... Oh so you got here. That's great." Rava showed her to follow him. He seems to be quite happy, at least he does not act angry, thought Iwalani. "Listen Rava, I'm sorry that I have not answered you, I forget about it. Today was so much going on and I have been on the go all the time, I .." but she could not finish her sentence. Rava had stopped and wrapped his arms aroun her. Iwalani was totally shocked first, thinking he wanted to squeeze her to death when she realised he was hugging her. Rava never shown befor such an affection for her or another human being. He hugged his Asotus, would play with them, and scuffle around, but touching another person more than just a handshake or accidentally touching shoulders or stepping on other peoples feed was new to her. It took her a moment to realize and understand the situation, but when she did she wrapped her arms around him and hugged him back.
When both separate from the hug, Iwalani was relieved to see that Rava laughed. A wide smile of satisfaction that also was unlike him was all over his face. He took her by the hand and started to run along the beach. "Hey wait a minute, where are you going?" asked Iwalani but Rava did not stoped. They ran along the waters edge to a slightly more secluded spot of the beach. The beach was very short at this point and many dark rocks made the place unattractive for most tourists. Iwalani was about to ask what he intended to do now as three familiar faces appeared between the rocks. Rune, Iwalanis Asotu came towards them jumping happily, she was already wearing her costume and the black dragon wings fluttered back and forth. "Hey Hello my big girl, how did you come here? Has Rava brought you here?" she asked the excited Asotu.
But Rune could not keep her joy down and jumped and squeaked with her mouth wide open. Then Iwalani looked at the other two Asotus. There was Korsha, the big brown Asotu and Cerakane the red female with the pretty white markings. But there was more. "My God Rava, you got it yet done! You've made the two costumes!"
Iwalani could not hold back her happines. Korsha wore a dark brown harness and the on both sides next to his head more heads. Heads that looked like Korsha in fact it looked like he was a three-headed Asotus. They both had the same white facial marking, but the left head was grinning and the right head was baring his teeth. The original Korsha in the middle had his typical unimpressed and a bit grumpy expression as always.
Kani on the other hand looked quite different. To see her properly Iwalani had to go back a few steps to see the costume of the Asotu which made her much longer than usual. It looked as if she was eaten by a huge crocodile. Most of her body, hind legs, butt and tail were gone in a giant crocodile moth. Iwalani went to Kani greeted her and examined her crocodile butt. Upper and lower jaws of the crocodile were made of a hard material, possibly paper-mache. Eyes and teeth were painted and trimmed stones. The rest of the crocodile was made of cloth. The hind legs of Kani was the front legs of the crocodile. Kani was delighted to no longer have to wait and asked the young woman to play with her. "Wow, that looks really amazing!" Iwalani turned to Rava who caressed and fondled Rune who obviously enjoyed the extra attention and craned her neck to be rubbed everywhere.
Rava grinned at her, pointed to Rune and then in the sky. "Yes she is a dragon out of a movie!" Iwalani replied, laughing, "We need time to watch the film together, you may also like."
Rava nodded and made a motion as if he would open an umbrella, then pointed at the wings made of cloth and wire and then with the thumb up. "You really think it looks good? Thank you that's so sweet of you. Sometimes even you can be cute, Rava." she said and began to pet Rune too. Rava shook his head, then pulled at his beard with two fingers then he started laughing soundless. Iwalani laughed too "Do not worry Rava you can be cute, yet manly" Rava smiled, it was good to see the both now adjourned again and could talk to each other with out bad blood between them. They have both missed each other more than they would admit to themselves. Now Rava pointed to each person present whether human or asotus and then on the big wheel of the fairground. "Yes you're right let's go there and shake up the volume a little as long as possible, that's what we are here for."
