Description
The sun began to set as Czar made his way through the woods. As he finally reached the end of it, it was already deep into the dark hours. He entered an open grass field. It spanned to the horizon from west to east. Undeterred he carried on his journey. Long into the dark cloudy night he walked alone through he field. At the corner of his Emerald green eyes, he noticed a bight glow in the skies above him. He looked back and saw the huge moon piercing through the clouds as it showered him in its alluring glow. He stood there and let his mind rest for a while, a peaceful night and a moon for companionship.Request for

That's pretty awesome! nice to see you using SAI! although I'm starting to also use MyPaint (It's Free and Open-source version of SAI!) But I still haven't got completely used to the program. But I may learn to do my drawings instead of gimp!

I use a mouse to draw! I would definitely love to get a tablet but Just can't afford it though! But how I did the lineart is mainly strokes. (Gimp side) after of my hand drawn sketches!

Ahh i see, well you can try path tool to make smooth linearts, but i'm not sure how to access the menus in the other softwares.

I now see what you mean by soft shade over hard shade. You must have taken a really big airbush tool to make the light expand from the tail flame, then used different hues of the original to make the shading!
The original is golden, so that means you used different shades of orange and yellow!
Pink and maroon for the scarf (Mafura in japanese, just learned it a week ago!)!
You also changed the colour of the black outline to make it look nicer! (I tried doing that but the select by colour tool wouldn't select big chunks of the line only like a pixel or 10...)

Lol yep, i regularly use the 150 - 500 size (damn 500 max is so small, photoshop can go to 5000++ though it will lag) and a %100 minimum size, softest brush setting and a 10% density (so i can get as flat and even of a shade possible). It's these little subtle effect things that help bind the image elements together and fomr a kind of harmony.
Lol umm no i just used a gold base with translucent black shadows (opacity varies) and white (and yellow near the fire) hightlights. It's just that the gold is at maximum saturation so using black and using darker orange or black i can still get the same results. (besides i prefer using black because that is i think how real shadows work, if i need special colouration i add a tint layer on top to get a ember lighting or blue moon lighting on it.
And well the scarf is actually red, it just became ink because of the background and the moon lighting lol. (tint layer)
Is Mafura meaning the scarf? Or is that a colour? (and cool i learn something newXD)
Yep I make the outline match the content next to it, so the lineart has shadows and highlight too, gives it a softer look. And you should't do that, you should make a new layer on top of your black line and tick the clipping mode box on top of your layers menu. Then anything you colour on your top layer will only affect your bottom lineart (where there is no lineart drawing the colour will not change, you can use this to conveniently shadow and recolour anything. Very important feature.)
Overall, quite accurate in some parts i would say

so it is better to make shading UNDER the colors? I usually color, then use black into a dark version of the original color to shade over the color layer, then change the opacity so you can see the original color under it... I use the same for lighting.
Clipping mode? What is that? Is it a copy layer thingy?

Uhh no, i do the shading on top of the colour layer, think of it as placing a piece of translucient black paper on top of a picture for shadow.
Clipping is umm like you have a pic of an apple on a transparent surface, when you put a new layer on top then set it to clipping mode, that new layer will only affect the apple, so if you draw a smiley face it will only be on the apple, not outside the apple as well like a normal layer. Anything outside the appleis hidden.

Well not sure about there, but the gov here is actually actively creating racial tension. So while there is chinese, malay and indian, the real split is more between malay and non malay. The chinese and indians normally get along very well, we don't even care if you are yellow or black lol. (in fact sometimes we make fun and jokes of the skin colour about it being more heat absorbent or being a natural ninja XD) Actually we don't really care for skin colour, its just that the malay's often have a different attitude and normally speak malay instead of english which makes well... making friends more difficuilt. Of course there are exceptions to that though.
