Now c'mon... Don't you agree this god-modding thing is kinda annoying just like the power-playing?
There is your character... A character that you worked so hard to create, give a personality and abilities, then someone comes from nowhere with a char that can do everything without suffering any harm. Even being able to destroy a entire planet, galaxy or the universe. It is TOO easy make chars that can do such things, but it is not easy to create a character that can succeed on tough situations, even being almost dead of being beaten up.
Where's the fun of a char that can do what only God is able to? Where is the challenge? Where is the adventure? Where is the fun? P.S: Stamps are fun!

I've had rather nasty experiences with people on IMVU who called me out on a character I created that I was using in an RP session - said character I used was an undead character -Β sort of a vampire type with hypnotic powers who is also ageless,Β but also has weaknesses and has been killed numerous times,Β this joker pretty much threw a bitchfit at me when my character tried to fight back against his character -Β he pulled the "OMG YOU SUCK AT THIS BECAUSE YOUR CHARACTER IS A GOD-MOD CHARACTER!"Β excuse on me and even called my character and the RP sessions i've used him a 'joke'.Β Β My response to people like that..."Ummm...excuse me Captain Moron,Β I believe your character is the one that started this mess..they tried to DECAPITATE my character and my character didn't even get to fight back?Β I DON'T care about how many deals with the devil your character made to be the way they are today or how many times your character has survived countless fight after fight,Β or how they are actually some reincarnated war-god or whatever-the-fuck-they-are-this-week...what you were doing is god-modding,Β plain and simple - for pete's sake..if your character has powers...why use weapons at all?Β And what was my character ever done to you, hmm?Β NOTHING. And then I ask, what if mother Earth is the only one? People believed that in the past, but the church demonized their symbols and their beliefs. Is'nt that god-modding? If god Do exist, I am sure that he does not like how people treat each other when it comes beliefs.

This stamp is not religion-related and merely makes a reference to concern an issue existent in the role playing practice.
""God Modding" is in essence when someoneβs character has the ability to do practically anything without limits or boundaries. And example is when they simply cannot be harmed by any and all means other RP-ers try.
-It can be killing or injuring a character without the player's express permission.
-It can be when they simply canβt be hit and dodge all attacks or anything for this matter aimed at them.
-It can also be using other characters that other people RP with. In other words, if you do not RP as
Legolas, then you cannot have Legolas say anything, or do anything, without the player's express permission.
The absolute worst is when they make out another character to be what theyβre not, just to make their own character seem superior. They make others seem weak, screaming for help, when theyβve made it quite clear about their advantages and strengths. This is called power-play. Itβs a strain of God-Modding, but instead of just being irritating, itβs offensive to boot.
This is a prime example of God Modding:
Player A: Punches Player B
Player B: Dodges attack, grabs Player A and throws him. Player A flies at Player B, who warps behind him and slashes Player A in the back."
In other words, what this stamp says is: You are not God. Don't pretend to be Him in your RPs.

I roleplayed once about dragons, but one of the characters were over-powered an tried to rule the world several times. And then it got boring.. God-modding is bad.

"God modding" or "Godmode" is the term given in role playing (Not an actual role playing game - RPG) when a character is not only overpowered but also invincible. No matter what other characters do this one character never takes damage at all and will never be defeated. Things like "Then the knight dug his spear in the dragon's chest so strongly it passed over the flesh. The dragon however, despite cringing slightly smirks and pulls out the weapon, leaving the deadly wound to drop blood. Even though its heart was destroyed by the spear the mighty creature keeps on going and in a blinding speed slices the knight in half with the blades of its tail. A quick swing of it and the knight is no more. As for the wound, the dragon decides to seek for a healer."
Dragons are much stronger than humans, but a character like that, for example, is considered fruit of godmodding. A lance pierced through its chest and vital organs but even so the dragon kept on going as if nothing had happened and instead of dying from the damage like it should, it managed to kill the knight with one single hit in a way that the knight character had to chance to avoid or do anything to defend himself. In a situation like that, the person playing the dragon character simply gave the one playing the knight not a single opportunity to defend his character. The knight should have been victorious in that example.

I always thought god-modding was something where one RPer decides the fate of other RPer's OCs.
Example:
<RPer> Peter threw a punch at Jackson.
<God-Modder> Jackson dodged the punch, and punched Peter in the stomach, making Peter double over in pain!
Either way, both are still annoying...

Agreed except for one thing about ultra-powerful characters: they don't tend to have any emotional or intellectual weaknesses to make up for their absurd strength. It absolutely baffles me on how some powerful characters can somehow not go insane because of the power obtained and just suddenly know when to use said powers (althouh even mental instability/other emotional problems can give the rper the "ability" to do whatever s/he wants). Not to mention if you have two people playing with very powerful characters, it ends up being a weird co-op rp, which can get kinda stale. Other than that I usually don't mind powerful characters.

I don't believe in God, but I agree and don't like it when people do this. An example of this is that I see loads of OC dragons that are purple, like spyro the dragon and making them just too much.

Indeed! It requires imagination and creativity to make a good character. Godmoder characters are too easy to make. You don't need creativity to make one like that.
