Description
The following is a picture of a yellow dwarf main sequence star (kind of like the sun) in its final death throes. This star has consumed all of its hydrogen and is in the process of shedding its outer layers of gas (as evidenced by the numerous burst clouds)after which it will become a white dwarf and planetary nebula. The picture was created exclusively with Photoshop CS3 ant took about two days to complete.
I hope you like the picture! Comments and crits appreciated!

In space art one almost forgets that nebulae like this even exists in favour of the generic cloud-like ones. I remember reading books about the same to-be event and the illustrations seemed to vary each time, often more like spherical cloudy patterns around a red sun that to me seeme da little disappointing compared to the alternative supernova, but this strange serie sof bubbling colourful plasma makes me think the Sun will have a pretty final show after all...The organic texture you used in each of the blobs is really well used too

Thanks! Planetary nebulae are probably my favorite celestial objects. They are all so unique and beautiful. I wanted to create a portrait without a lot of surrounding distractions.

love it. reminds me of the early formation of the universe right after the big bang, when galaxies were first forming. saw the article in national geographic on universal evolution , viewing space as far back as the big bang, I love the detail in this piece. Organic and plant like. Outrega

Yeah, like a rose!
Nice job, . Beatiful and it's had some "mysterious"... but if you put some background, because it's some empty, :S. Put stars, for example...
Great after all, . Add to my
right now,

Earlier in the year I participated in a few art festivals and one of the most frequent comments about this picture was that it looked like a flower. I left the background empty because I wanted to create a portrait without any surrounding distractions to detract from the nebula. Thanks!
