Did you actually render all those people? I'm curious how you did figure out how to do this scene lol.

This is gorgeous, such great detail, as the giantess lazily steps through the small city.......

Woah! It is been a while since your last city themed pic and, gosh you nailed it! Really looks amazing the work you did here and my goodness, how many models there are?!
Glad to see you are coming back with your neat city content!
Looking forward to what you have in store for with these tests!

Crowd billboards? Is that the secret?

Instead of billboards I used instances of a genesis 3 male and female characters. Eventually I want to do animations of crowds of pepple. This was kind of a test to see how many instances I can reasonably use while rendering quickly

Ah I see! I didn't know we could actually make instances. I've used instanced tree products before but instanced custom figures? Didn't think of it!

I used a product calledΒ UltraScatter Pro to create instances. I haven'tΒ gotten around to using billboard but they are probably lighter on the computer though.

Here are the examples of the instances.Β

I tried both, I think I definitely like billboard a lot less because it doesn't really allow as much customization as the scatter pro, as they are boards with predefined images...

Now that I know you used ultrascatter pro and re-looked at the images, I could see the repeat characters around, but man, because they are so tiny, you can barely tell they are the same!

How do you do that??? Share your secrets!

All I really did was optimized the scene far more than I usually do. I drasticaly lowered the resolutions of all the texture, bump, normal, and displacement maps if everything that was small or not in the forefront. I changed the subdivisions of everything to 0 except the giantess and the parking garage. Hid everything that the camera didn't see. I had this scenario for a while now but it kept crashing every time I tried to render. The subdivision of the business suit was the culprit

That gives me a lot of interesting ideas! I didn't know reducing subdivisions to zero is actually possible (shame on me!), that would hugely reduce the amount of lag I usually experience with large volume of object in a scene!

How do you lower resolutions in an efficient way? I do find doing them over photoshop is... very tedious

Thanks for the help man!

I use a product called Scene Optimizer sold at the Daz3d Store. Way easier and you can change multiple maps at the same time. Im pretty sure there are other ones that would work as well
