I get it's a take on Jiu Jitsu and all that but still I think Chopper seemed like a more appropriate name for him because of his hand chop action.

Exactly what Jukka said my friend. His Filmation name was Chopper

The tentative name was Chopper. It's in Filmation scripts even.
Mattel later changed the name, but the episode had already gone to production, and sadly Jitsu never got another episode where he'd actually get name-checked.
