Do they actually live in or on the sun as the name suggests? Or just 'from the stars' in general.
I also really dig the vehicle name "War Skin". Does the job. So many different names for different types of mecha. Not all of them sound as cool as they look; land mate, mortar head, wanzer -all kinda goofy.

Totally. I'm just grateful for once that someone devised a mech classification that doesn't sound ridiculous. It's some kind of Japanese gift -the art of awful names. Like this joint I used to hit in Kyoto: "The Biburous Cafe" WTF is a Biburous?

True.
BTW, I finished the line art stage of Malachi's WS and posted some WIP: [link] Any thoughts or comments before I start playing w/ colors? Some folks had ideas about the proportions, but not sure about deviating too far from your design. Very literal so far w/ just a few refinements.
Also, I was thinking of using Malachi himself rather than the Fatiamian Man-at-Arms for scale comparison. Whaddya think? (didn't put in the character yet).

the proportions are fine. the unit was not designed to have the correct human proportions. i really like what i'm seeing so far . the only suggestion i have is make sure u have fun and don't hold back!

Right, I suspected the proportions you had were totally intentional. Never bothered me personally, just reacting to other's comments.
Really glad you dig it so far. Fun? Check! Having a blast so far. I feel an addiction growing.
Would like to think that this won't be the last WS I take a whack at! In the process of studying these design closely, feels like I'm learning a lot...
We'll see how long it take me to wrap up color with a newborn + toddler @ home. This is a happy place I'd like to retreat to whenever manageable.

Sounds awesome to me, Mike! really, I have no choice but to put the fam first, that's really my main MO. I just also need some safe harbor to keep me sane. And this is a much better one that games, booze or netflix (which is the norm).
I'm looking forward to chatting about this project you mentioned. Noticed on your front page something about requesting colorists. Didn't respond to that right away for obvious reasons, but we'll be in touch! Thanks again, Mike!
