haha. thanks, man. I usually do the white paint at night and draw during the day, while my daughter's sleeping. it's the best formula I've come up with. ha.

Are your white backgrounds just raw gesso or so you put a smooth coat over it or what?

it's just a raw coat. It's pretty easy to draw on, since it's dry like paper...if that makes any sense. ha.
but it's super simple, so productivity is def. up on this type.

Yeah gesso is great to draw on. What brand do you use?
Do you finish coat with anything?
I like to do finishing clear matte or mix some color in to glaze.

I don't know the name of the brand. I usually just get what I can for cheap. ha.
I don't coat it w/anything. I probably should, though. ha.
as long as it doesn't make it glossy.
clear matte sounds good. I'll check it out next time I buy supplies. thanks for the heads up!

If you do you first top coat w/ gloss medium and then do two or three matte coats on top, you'll get a more equalized matte finish.
I would give your coats at least one hour under heat lamps or direct sunlight; or three to four hours in shade.
