Haha! I remember that part. It's actually important that he looks different because there are only a certain amount of humans in Meridian incluiding the royal family which explains why Elyon looks human. How they got there is once explained in an Elyon special.

Like how cartoon!Bos seems more prone to Temper tantrums and is more serious, and how Comic!Bos looks more calm, chill and prone to smile more and tease and is much more full of himself his cartoon counterpart (with the whole God complex and no-one-gets-to-see-my-face-until-they-are-worthy thing goin' on).Β
Also so notice how different their tastes are: cartoon!Bos liking more gothic, sharp and black designs (with fricking torture devices) and comic!Bos liking more lavish decadent design of gold and velvet red.Β

Phobos is also my favourite character and i watched WITCH a long time ago (but i'm watching it again now) and as i can't remember all i was scared when i saw COMIC Phobos again. I was like "HOLY SHIT HE WON'T LOOK LIKE THAT, WILL HE??"
I love his personality and appearence as well he was one of my firsts favourite characters ever so...
BTW do you know something more about him and his past?

Phobos is my current obsession as I'm stuck in nostalgia age for W.I.T.C.H. (my childhood love <3) as you might have noticed already, my gallery is full of Phobos 
I understand you perfectly, for when I saw his comic version (I watched the cartoon first and had no clue about the comics) I was like totalΒ Β why the red beard and them scaly brows?Β Β I suppose it's a style/fashion thing to make him stand out. Oh well, since it's Phobos, in his very original and primordial form I came to love it as well xD But all hail the rapunzel hair!
And his personality oh don't even make me start. He throws so much sass and shade on everybody. It's almost impossible not to like and dislike him at the same time but I'm quite blinded right now (sank too low) so I don't dislike anything about him anymore.
Unfortunately his past is full of gaps and I couldn't find much about him. Believe me, I SEARCHED like crazy in both the comics and the episodes. Rewatched / reread them for countless times and tried to analyze each information hinted to him. Not even to this day we know how he came in power or what truly turned him the way he is. Nothing much about his royal line/family either. Just a little bit about his mother Weira, in the comics, the first Queen Leryn and the one only King Escanor (but it's questionable if he truly was a king). A short scene in the comics when he remembers a moment of his childhood when he is denied the right to rule and that's...it.Β
Of course if you try to analyze every single little part and particle out there you can deduce a lot more traits about him and so on but those can't fill the gaps. But it can give ideas for fanfics xD

I also watched W.I.T.C.H. as a little child and it's moth ago when i decided to watch it again. And also it's maybe a 2-3 weeks i just discovered that W.I.T.C.H. is comic too so you can imagine the shock XDD
I also can't see any bad things on him O_O Okay, he's a bit haughty and he does rash decision but... I can't help myself i love him so much 
What a shame. He's really interesting character and i think the potential of this character is untapped. 
I'm going to rewatch cartoon (i started already) and then i have to find comic somewhere just to do the same thing as you.
And don't you know why? Why he was denied the right to rule?
It was one of my theories that he was denied the right to rule and he turned into how he's right now. Because of sadness, disappointment and jealousy what's understable in fact for years he was the
heir by right and suddenly "Hey, what a shame, Phobos, but you won't be a Prince/King anymore!" so i think if i've been him, i'll also become how he's right now. JUST MY THEORY! O_O

I personally prefer the cartoon Phobos, I think he is even more beautiful than the comic Phobos and comic Phobos somehow disappointed me because he just wasn't like in the cartoon (saw the cartoon first and then read the comics a little) even though he also was my favorite character in the comics too... I think he is a really interesting character.

I saw the cartoon first as well! That's why when I saw comic!Phobos I was slightly disappointed but I came to like him even like that. If it's Phobos, I love everything about him
To me he is the most fascinating, interesting, enigmatic and controversial character in the whole W.I.T.C.H. series esp because there are many gaps in his past and many historical facts are missing. We don't know him that well after all, nor how he came in power and nor about his very abilities and conceptions and ideals. It's all very vague.

I also think it's sad that we don't know that much about him... I mean, he must have made some really bizarre experiences in his live to become the kind of cruel person he is. But that's usual for villains, I think there's way too little background information in general about 'the bad guys' also in other catoons/comics/films even though in my opinion this would be helpful to understand the whole story. On the other hand, this leaves a lot of room for interpretation and creativity to think of Phobos' story. I'm still waiting for anybody to write a fanfiction about his past ... I couldn't find one jet :-/ .

Hahaha, so true! Though to be honest I prefer the comic version of Phobos, his eyebrows give him a more alien-ish look and the colour choice of his clothes doesn't scream "evil character" right away! I guess they wanted to simplify his appearance and personality for the TV show in order to also appeal to younger people. But "Meh"! Phobos is great either way ^^

I remember when I first saw the comic version of Phobos I was so disapointed like '' WHY RED? '' and his eyebrows were also red ever since he was a child. Genetics went on a whole other level in the W.I.T.C.H. Universe xD Oh the braids, yes they seemed quite weird to be coming out of nowhere it felt like he was teleporting himself in between dimensions or whatever and the continuation of his braids was still in the place he teleported from. Anyway. I liked the fact that his hair was even longer. Β All hail, Rapunzel Phobos
But all in all, I preffer the darker version of Phobos. Wish his clothing was more complex and detailed, with more garments and adorned with royal accesories and all that. And a cape. A long trailing cape with a transparent texture and roses pattern. Hope he wore tights/leggings behind that robe. He'd look nice. Oh and long boots. I know that Cedric does wear red boots and black tights in the cartoon. If you look closely when he's transforming you can see

I agree completely. In general I liked the anime more not only in colors but also in the plot. There were so many interesting characters there like Aldrarn and the other Rebels such as Caleb's father. I mean why not having them in the comic too? Also I believe Caleb's personality is cutter in the anime cause it shows his other, childish side. After all he is a child himself. He is 15-17 years old not a freaking 40 year old knight for goodness sake! It would be more normal for him to act more childish from time to time. But that doesn't mean he is not a good Leader since he has the leading abilities and the strategic way of thinking when he has to.
Another character that does not appear in the comic is also Blunk. This funny little fellow has played a great part in the anime but in the manga he doesn't exist. Yes there are people in the comic that still are good such as Daltar the gardener but nevertheless the characters sounded better in the anime to me. Also the many monsters that appear in the anime, the names, the way of acting and feeding...
Also the coloring in the anime was facinating. The darkness of Meridian fits the tormented kingdom more than those bright colors in the manga.

Also there is another thing...Phobos appears in the comic as a child trying to reach the crown and his mother slapping his hand away holding baby Elyon in her arms telling him SHE is going to be Queen and not him a King. That is kinda obsurd since Phobos is...ehm...a child around five seven years of age while Elyon is already born. I mean...wasn't Elyon supposed to be abducted by Galgeita when she was a newly born child? Whom were they trying to protect her from then? A five-year-old Phobos?
