I have same problem. -.-" Since I was a kid my all family wanted to use my talent and make me famous but noone asked me what I want and now I just can't enjoy it anymore. It became my duty or a job. I do not want to be a singer!

I can actually realate to this. I'm not very good at it, but I hate being "forced" to do it xI and just like that, one can lose one's passion for something (actually quite cruel ;A

same here I hate being forced to do something. I often get nagged at to do something that I was going to do but haven't got round to it yet but the more that person nags me to do it the less i want to because i want to feel that i am willingly doing it aand not just doing it because someone told me to... get what i mean??

yesss, I totally get what you mean ;A; haha, btw, my "passion" is not singing, though it may have seemed like that xD
anyways, I also have a small anxiety towards performances, so I really can't stand it >n< and just to deepen it; I started my passion for myself only, and I really enjoyed it. But after some years, this "forcing" gradually became more involved ;A; Probably because my "talent/skills/whatever" (haha xD) and my passion grew. So, ofc, I think performances (in my case) and so on are okay from time to time, but when people really force me to do something I really don't want to (like performances), I may lose my interest in my passion in the future. Mainly because the forcing may connect my passion to this negativity. And as the art says; "they'll/she'll take away everything I love".
On the other hand, as I said; I'm planning on living my passion to its fullest (I hope it'll last all my life) >u< and fortunately, I have more than one passion I live for n.n

yes your passion should be done for your own enjoyment. you shouldn't feel like you HAVE to do it. I on the other hand like to perform (i like the rush i get even tho i get nervous haha wierd xD ) but yeah sometimes the 'forcing' is too much.
I hope my ( and everyone else's) passions last my life too! ^^ yaay

I might be reading too much into this but I see this as metaphor for someone who wants a passion to stay a passion not a job. A lot of artists struggle with this and it's interesting to see.

I totally understand... Doing something you love to do is great, but being forced to do it for profit IS NOT THE SAME. It just shuts you down and makes you want to hide away in a shell so the precious treasure you have to give won't lose its shine that you love about it.

I'm sorry someone is abusing your talent and forcing you to sing, reminds me a little of so-called "tiger-mothers"
As for me, I've always loved to sing. However, since I've sung in voice lesson recitals, I've noticed my natural inclination to sing just for fun, just by myself, has gradually declined.....sad.....can't you sing on your own or in public without standing up in front of people or looking like a weirdo? The innocence has been lost.....
