Even if the style is anime, the subject is cartoon. So these are not "anime girls" even if they look it.

Understood. However I disagree about the subject being cartoon. When people make fan art they draw the character they choose and they draw whatever the style they want or they keep the original design of the character. The series is cartoon based but art can be anything. The artist chose to draw this in "anime style" basing it on an anime genre. If another artist draws a realistic Finn and Jake for example then it would be based on the "realism" genre. Either way it's fan art and Adventure Time is still Adventure Time.

I know that. I'm quite familiar with Adventure Time. I don't think that the artist submitted the picture according to the show's style, though. They submitted it according to the style that they drew it in. 8I
