Just looking at the community response, if you were to make a game, which it seems you would be able to. You would full be able to monetize it without any fear. It falls under parody law which is full protected in the US which is the country which you would have to worry about, and from what I have seen the creators have really enjoyed bringing up fan projects. It seems like you enjoyed drawing them and you have a passion for some of these characters just an idea.
Also Bill Cypher as a good guy against the ancient linage of the pines who dabble in the demonic sounds awesome, a roll similar to S.A.M from the new Mass Effect.
