BOOMER WILL- Wait. Wrong one.
In any case, that's great! And I guess it was needed. Demo Reel was... Disappointing. REALLY Disappointing. It had potential, but... Yeah.

Awesome! I'm glad Doug's bringing the Nostalgia Critic, but I hope he continues some of his newer shows like Sibling Rivalry and Demo Reel...I mean, you can't let a character like Carl Copenhagen go to waste

Yeah, I love it a lot too. I mean they're analyzing and talking in depth about the film but they're bickering and having fun with it too. I'm glad they really like Bolt too

Yeah, I'll have to listen to that commentary again. That's why I like his Old vs. New reviews, the Haunting review, and his top 20 favorite movies because you can really sense his love of movies in them and I wanted more, especially what he thought about Robert Wise movies in his Haunting review (that actually inspired me to buy and watch the original

Yeah, I totally understand. his Old vs. New review of 10 Commandments and Prince of Egypt inspired me to buy the PoE movie and I'm really not much of a fan of religion based films.

And I always wanted to see a positive review of 'Watership Down' case A) it's my favorite movie of all time and B) it's grotesquely underrated. What, he can praise Secret of NIMH to the heavens but WD gets the shaft?

vegiboy3000 In reply to LilacElf05 [2013-01-23 16:30:50 +0000 UTC]

I think he explains it in the top 11 reviews he's never going to do because he likes the movie and I think when he reviews a movie, the fans inspired him to knock it.

Yeah, I'd actually like hear more about Robert Wise films because he seemed to mention one or several in his reviews like The Haunting and was saying he was watching Sand Pebbles due to the whole Mako ordeal

"I think he explains it in the top 11 reviews he's never going to do because he likes the movie and I think when he reviews a movie, the fans inspired him to knock it."--Yeah, but especially if you're gonna try and make something fresh and new...why not do positive. Besides, there's more to being a great reviewer than slamming bad stuff all the time.

er, why did I say inspired? I meant to say his fans expect him to knock it. Sorry X o. But yeah, definetely. I actually love his positive reviews even more because just hearing him talking about it gets me hyped up and excited too. That's why I bought the original Haunting and watched it. Also his top 20 favorite movies is one of my favorite videos of his too

Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog and Scooby-Doo. I know for the first one, Doug and Rob were only making fun of it to get some good laughs, not because they actually hated the show. The Scooby-Doo movie, however, they did hate, and now that I've seen the review, I have to say the movie wasn't as great as I thought it was, but I still like it. It's my guilty pleasure, to say the least.

vegiboy3000 In reply to makeacandidbroadcast [2013-01-23 20:02:50 +0000 UTC]

Cool . Yeah, I love the Sonic the Hedgehog one a lot too, especially the joke Doug used where the creators of the two shows were presenting the shows as class projects which I thought was a really neat idea . Yeah, the Scooby-Doo movies are kind of guilty pleasures for me too, although I recently saw the beginning of the second one on tv and it was hard to get through because the dialogue was just so rapid and paper thin and it was throwing a bunch of jokes at the screen, so that left me disappointed though. Doug and Rob did say on the commentary for the episode that they were especially disheartened as they could see that some of the actors in the first movie were really trying to do a good job, like Matthew Lillard, which I agree with because Lillard's Shaggy was pretty spot on and one of the best things about the movies. I've kind of started to despise the director of the movies now though, especially since he's now working on the Smurfs :shudder:

Anyway, in terms of reviews I disagree with, my biggest ones were A Kid in King Arthur's Court, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, The Pagemaster, the Old vs. New Karate Kid, Space Jam, and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.

For sort of kind of reviews I disagree with him about are Alaska, Twister (I can see the flaws in both films but I still find them okay), Super Mario Brothers Move (although I only say that because I've only seen it once and I like bits and pieces of it like Yoshi being a t-rex, cause wel; it sounded cool to me, but I probably wouldn't like it that much if I saw it again), Batman and Robin (its just meh okay to me and its slipped down near the bottom thanks to Chrispter Nolan's Batman films anyway), Saved with the Bell was okay but I guess I let that one pass because I didn't really watch it anyway. Same with Full House, although I do like several episodes of the show a lot, kind of Are You Afraid of the Dark (some episodes which I really like but I might mostly have outgrown, didn't think Flubber was that bad but its down in meh territory now, and Quest for Camelot which I thought was okay but I haven't seen in a while but I don't think my opinion would have changed that much, Independence Day which I think is just goofy fun, although now that I've seen E.T. and Close Encounters a lot, its kind of waning. Maybe James and the Giant Peach too but I only saw that once or twice anyway and I like how Doug reviewed it even though he didn't really like it anyway, and I guess Ritchie Rich but I can see his point and that probably has wained a bit for me too.

Special mention would probably be Matilda, Star Trek Nemisis, Avatar and District 9 even though he technically didn't review those.

(Wow, sorry, didn't mean to give you the full list and I didn't know I had that many disagreements with him. Sorry X o)

Actually I'm curious to see what he thinks of Speed, especially since Jan De Bont directed it and NC now hates him because of Twister and the Haunting

I was kind of iffy with DemoReel to be honest...it just felt like it was just a big parody thing. While Doug IS good at it, and I liked the other two guys...Donny wasn't that interesting at first...making him a failed movie star Was interesting, don't get me wrong, but...he's not like Chester, thatguy, NC or even the guy from Video Game Confessions.

So yeah, out of all of Doug's roles, this one was the weakest in my opinion You can disagree with me, and I will respect that you disagree and I'll make sure to respect your opinion as logn as you respect mind.

I fell sad for Demo Reel; I was hoping it would work, but let's face it, it was doing well I love Donnie's origin story from a couple weeks ago

The thing is whether if Doug realized it from sometime and how long he decided to make the NC's return. He did made a video two weeks after Demo Reel's debut and did expressed how disappointed he was the first 2 episodes. I think that's when he decided to continue the show as barometer to decide NC's comeback, cause this final episode of Demo Reel looks to well written to have been done after the origin Donnie's story. I hope the Demo Reel cast make a come back, as the extra guardian's of the Plot Hole, not only for that No life no sacrificial nerd that bother everyone on the site. RIP Demo Reel.

I do hope the actors make a comeback though, cause if I remember, Doug was looking for people for new shows; he still us a new Video Game review Show, a new Comic review Show and a "Blu-Ray" review Show. Will each of the 3 take a lead on those show; cause is staying with Doug on NC.
