Ah yeah, I've been reading that... just wondering where it'll go really, the plotline kinda started out 'in medias res'....

think of that first chapter as the beginning of a Bond film. i dive more into the heart of the story in chapter two. but as a weekly action comic, i admit, it might take a while to get there. stick around and it'll be worth it though! or, if it's better, just come back every few weeks to see where things are at.

Mmmm... though the reason that it works for Bond is because the character and everything you need to know about him has allready been established by his long lineage.

i disagree. a person can enter any Bond film (well, the well made ones at least) and understand exactly who Bond is. opening with an action sequence establishes that this is just one of many adventures for our suave protagonist, and that he's good at what he does. that's pretty much all that is needed to know. if this information was dependent on any previous knowledge the franchise would never have worked for so long. raiders of the lost ark used the same approach.
now i'm NOT saying Cleo is anywhere near the caliber of what the Bond films or Spielberg had done (not even close), but that style of storytelling is what i'm going for. it's still very early in, but you have to trust me- a very real, hold in your hands plot will start creeping ever so slowly into the story. hopefully you'll stick around!

True... I understand that aspect of it too but failed to mention it... Bond is pretty self explanatory and you get his motivation and his character through what he does, not his backstory or the setup. He's a martini-drinking, gambling, womenising guy that just so happens to be a spy of great renown.
