Fighter pilot commission I recently finished up.Commissions are currently on hold while I focus on Cleo and and some other projects, but I'll likely open them back up in a few months or so.
EDIT: After talking to the client, I changed the tail fins to reflect more umm.. democratic policies than say the ones Bond was always fighting against. If you want to see the original I still have it uploaded here: [link]

Very cool...until I saw the evil Communist Red Stars on the tails. I never knew what was so cool about the fascination with the whole "Communism is chic" factor. But liking the F-35 Lightning and its a multi-national fighter desgined to counter threats like Communism. Afterall: Che Guevarra, Fidel Castro, Mao Tso Tung aren't cool.

It just sends the wrong message. Especially placing Red Stars on Free World Western military hardware. I have never lived under a Communist/Socialist regime...but I know and worked with many people that have and are living in a free society now. It may look "cool", but then so would a Nazi Swastika on an US Navy F-14 Tomcat?

yeah i think my ignorance of military hardware might have hurt me on this one. to me planes are planes and stars are stars- regardless of what color they are. i assure you, anything communist in nature wasn't even on the remote spectrum of my mind while working on this.

No real worries, Mike. I don't think you were implying anything with any underlying undertones. Afterall, it was a commissioned work for a buying customer. And, I still think its a great piece overall. Now, time to re-watch watch that Clint Eastwood clasic, "Firefox", eh?

hah! yes. all the same, i think i'm going to run this by the client and see if they'd prefer i recolor those to blue or something (blue is okay right?). really wouldn't be much trouble.
