Commissioned work from , Goku and Superman versus Emperor Joker... this was a lot of fun to do...not my idea though

..and in the posters in the back it´s the commissioner´s avatar and my own..
...uff, I don´t think I have ever made a finished piece with so many characters in it...

Wow. WB and Toei should get together and turn this into a OVA. And I have to say, a fight between Goku and Darkseid would be more interesting then Goku Vs. Superman.

I always wondered why they never touched it, partially it might because they have no time to fit such an idea as superman is likely to be no longer owned by DC and WB come 2013 due to the case between DC and the family who created superman.
Well one can always hope, I mean they have had DC vs Marvel half a dozen times and the surprisingly good DC vs mortal kombat game. Even if it was in game version it would sell by the tens of thousands given how well DBZ has always been sold on the game consoles. So the potential is there.

Though the general flow doesn't work well, and I'm disappointed at the choice of DBZ villain.

Orignally it was going to be doomsday and brolly, but I felt there could have been better options quite frankly. Also brolly I found was done to death, no more so then in dragonball multiverse, a DBZ fan comic. Heck even the games have brolly as almighty, exaggerating his full power. Personally i felt janemba would be suitable, he maybe not everyone's cup of tea other then being highly powerful (and giving superman fans a cheer for tasking him to such a strong foe) Janemba's attributes as a reality warper would certinely make him a recurit of 'team joker'

..Or you could have focused on a canon opponent, like Cell, Freeza, or Buu.
Freeza certainly wouldn't fit, but Buu and Cell are both possible to control, if only for a short time.

so just because hes "not canon" no one can ever wonder how janemba vs superman would go. i'm not trying to be rude here but everytime someone even mentions a movie dbz character vs dc someone has to say "non canon" like it doesnt count. once again im not trying to be rude here and i know you didnt say anything about it not counting. it just gets kind of anoying after a while hearing "non canon" everytime a movie dbz character is mentioned. so again no hard feelings here.

But villains from the anime/manga have a lot more back story than movie villains.
Besides, of all the movie villains, Janemba just doesn't fit. He can't necessarily be revived, since his first "birth" took thousands of years of compressed evil. Considering the resources needed, and an exact recreation of Janemba would probably need the same base as well, it is nearly impossible. Someone like Freeza or Cell would be easier to bring into the picture, since they can both be brought back to life with something like the Dragon Balls. Additionally, Cell could simply be created again the same way he was created before.
While it would be an interesting fight, Janemba has a similar power level and set of powers as Majin Buu. Since Buu is, once again, easier to revive it still makes more sense to bring Buu back.
So, yeah, Janemba vs Superman would be neat. But Buu vs Superman or Cell vs. Superman would be better since the method of their revival would make more sense, and their background would be more interesting.
