Who is the model for Mary Jane?
I think your drawing captured her beauty perfectly

Absolutely love your black and white work of Spider-man.
Just one minor question: When I see Peter in your work I am always reminded of Harry Potter. Were you influenced by the movies/artwork on Harry potter when you drew these pictures (Then again it can just be me seeing the resemblance)?

not really. I think it was just that my model had that same haircut.

Really fantastic piece. I wouldn't have expected anything less. I suppose just because you ask for critiques, maybe a subtle value difference between his face and the back of her jacket would help separate the two a little, but that's hardly worth a full critique.

more than likely this will be inked and colored,,,it is a comic book sooo there is no need for any value or tonal changes....nice work mike

Not really. That's how all the images appear finished in the book..., graphite. Only maybe some cover art gets any kind of color or added stuff. I have both books. I'm not sure if this image got published. I'd have to flip through them.

I think you've captured that magic, hopeful moment for a young man that has been enduring a secret love he's not sure is requited. The purity of her smile has so much potential here... it could simply be a quick joke shared between them, or (because of his reaction), the acceptance of a first date request.
Fantastic technique... so alive, plus great storytelling!!!
