Oh, this is leaps and bounds beyond anything they did in the cartoon! You've managed to strike an interesting balance here too, between sinister creepiness and a kind of inhuman almost serpentine beauty that reminds me of some depictions I've seen of Medusa from Greek Mythology. The characters from He-Man and She-Ra are like modern myths themselves, so it is only fitting that you've evoked that sort of a feeling with this amazing Shadow Weaver painting. This simply must go under my favorites!

Hey thanks! I appreciate that you took the time to write such a thoughtful and detailed comment! She is a really cool character and I feel that she never got enough of her back story fleshed out in the cartoon.
Cheers!

I always thought she deserved a more detailed story in the cartoon too... especially since she was one of the most important members of the Evil Horde other than Hordak himself. Horde Prime got the shortest end of the stick too... they never even showed what he looked like before the series was cancelled. Though I have seen some very interesting artistic takes on Horde Prime, a couple of which some talented Deviants here on the site put up! The action figure they ended up released for him was, compared to that... quite underwhelming. Tee-hee-hee.

Horde prime was just a Giant arm floating in a cloud on a big spaceship who takes vacations every couple of thousand years. He's more like a god than a villain and I've never given him much thought. However Granamir would be really fun!
Cheers!

*Giggle* That thing about Horde Prime being a god who takes vacations every couple of thousand years reminds me a lot of this one character from the Elder Scrolls series of video games. He's this god of madness named Sheogorath, and he rules this domain called the Shivering Isles that lies in another dimension. But every so often, like every several hundreds of years or so, he gets bored ruling it so he decides to take a vacation and come to the planet Tamriel to do whatever. In the game Skyrim, one of his followers from the Shivering Isles actually comes looking for him because they were worried about him being gone for so long. What cracks me up about Sheogorath is he has this very over the top Irish accent, constantly is cracking silly and ridiculous jokes, and says the most batshit crazy things just to mess with people... but he's one of my favorite characters from that series because he's just so colorful and you never know what he's going to do next. At one point he gives you this magic staff that has all kinds of insane random effects, and he actually calls it "The Wabbajack". Pure insanity, but awesome! So methinks Horde Prime would be like that if he loosened up a bit and got a sense of humor. Tee-hee-hee!

Your Shadow Weaver greatly surpasses the cartoon one.

Hey thanks, I was trying to bring her to life and show what she might look like "beneath the cowl".
Cheers!

This is a great version of Shadow Weaver, the face hidden in the dark with the yellow eyes really only works in a cartoon this would work well in live action!

Thx. Those were my thoughts as well. I mean, the floating eyes look really cool and one could still accomplish that effect if she pulled up her hood. Besides, I had always wanted to see what she might have looked like under the cowl.
Cheers!

Very nice. I love the atmosphere of this picture, along with the dramatic lighting and fog.
