Description

This artwork depicts a weapon which is a part of my sci-fi world's lore. Do not copy the design, use it in your own artworks, or claim it as your own!

Lore and Description:
P23.0 "Aidoru" is one of the members of Targan's family of mass-produced weapon. Unlike the later P29 "Korimora", the Aidoru is of a conventional layout, with the magazine in the front of the pistol grip. As is common with Targan weapons, the design makes a heavy use of polymers and parts common with other weapons from the family. The stock is pretty crude and non-adjustable. The weapon is chambered for the 3.2 × 40 mm kinetic penetrator rounds, giving it good performance against body armor, despite the rounds being rather short. The barrel is shorter than what's common for ARs, bringing it closer to a carbine rather than an actual assault rifle. A set of acessory rails allows for some basic customization, the example shown in the artwork is equipped with a vertical foregrip and a proprietary red-dot sight.

The P23.0 was used extensively by Rotharnian armed forces in the later stages of the Global War. While it couldn't match the quality of Gora Vur or K&S weapons, it was produced in large numbers and was sufficient enough to get the job done - without offering anything extra on top.

Inspiration and Background Information:
There is no particular weapon this would be modered after (the design shares components and design language with my other Targan designs though), but the desire to create a receiver with a "hump" was influenced by the AA-99 from Starfield. Nevertheless, I then added an attachment rail on top of it so the resulting silhouette is straight anyway.
