Hey gang. I've begun an exercise in creating dedicated superhero team for future use and a universe has begun forming and geling together. As time passes I'm going to be posting these guys and gradually sharing the story of AEGIS Sector and its heroes. AEGIS is their Authority Level, JLA/Avengers etc type of team. A little inspired by SHIELD, Stormwatch and the like, it is a sanctioned meta-team on a near future earth following the events of an extra dimensional invasion that put that Earth on the map in that settings multi-omniverse and interstellar community. AEGIS forms as a first and last line of defense after this sort of Justice-League Apokalips+Pacific Rim style event and consists of Earth's most powerful heroes and sympathetic and allied cosmic-space heroes and as it's a future earth they have some benefit of the advanced tech of that era. Still forming the back story but as more chars are created more story comes into focus on its rise (and perhaps eventual fall.)

First up is VALIDUS - our resident planetoid buster. Validus claims to be the embodiment of the gods and heroes of ancient greek mythology rolled into one being with all of their powers accessible and active at once. The strength of Heracles, the thunder of Zeus, the speed of Hermes and more. An inscrutable being of uncertain and unknown origins he is AEGIS unparalleled most powerful member but brings with his powers the flaws and hubris of the greek myths making him, at times, seem psychologically unstable and vulnerable depending on which 'myths' he seems to be calling on. Furthermore he never seems to have the gifts of more then five active at the same time even though a single gift can sometimes confer multiple powers. Despite the uncertainty around him, his loyalty to humanity and defense of Earth is unwavering as is his willingness ot defer to the leadership of AEGIS despite his 'godly' demeanor. If only he could wrestle more control over his Zeus like tendencies to hit on the opposite sex with bad 1970's level one-liners.

Validus is my Superman/Thor analog and could probably arm-wrestle both at the same time with one arm while distracted with something else. Take him on if you dare. Or take him out to eat. He'd be fine with either.
