Description
To most this is the Wisdom Tree, but it'll always be Lone Tree to me. If you look at the Hollywood sign and scan to the left you'll see this little sucker sticking out at the top, the lone tree on the Cahuenga Peak. The Cahuenga Peak Trail is a somewhat treacherous run to get up there but once you're there, you can see the entire city of Los Angeles, the Valley, out to the Pacific...it's incredible. This shot was from my cross-country rail trip in 2010. Starting from NYC to Washington DC, Chicago, Portland, and down to Los Angeles by myself. In the process, I met a lot of interesting people and saw a lot of the country I'd never seen before. The trip served as a giant test run for the Sprocket Rocket, as I was able to shoot sunrise, sunset, nighttime, in the snow, in the rain, mountains, beaches, 4 major US cities, through 15-20 states, and 4100miles with a slew of different kinds of film. It was awesome.

Thanks!! It's definitely a really peaceful spot. You don't really hear much up there outside of the wind and the faint murmur of distant traffic.

I absolutely love this. As the DD states, the colors and the geometry of the tree work so well together and make it a wonderful piece. I absolutely love it! Congratulations on the DD, it is well deserved.
