I was listening to this cover of Remember Me from Coco and honestly I don't think a more perfect song to describe their family. This pic is kind of like the last pic they ever took as a whole family before Gin's mom died.

Gin's mom, Nao Suki-Shingei (she kept her maiden name Nao Suki as a stage name), is a local pro hero/doctor whose quirk, Anesthetic, allows her to, well, anesthesize a person through touching them (the more contact, the faster it heals). Because of a disaster and that struck in another far off city, Nao was assigned to go in order to tend to the wounded as well as help in rescuing victims. However, after a few days, she announced dead after catching an illness from one of the victims.

Gin's dad, Shou Shingei, is a mangaka whose quirk allows him to animate/shape ink into various forms- which is tbh, a convenience for him especially with his job. However he can only animate/shape ink into stuff he has already drawn. Blot- the black thing on his shoulder, is one of the first things he had animated and has been with him for as long as he could remember. (Blot is kind of like a butler/pet in the Shingei household :"D).
