This is such a beautiful photo. The light play is perfect as well as the pose taken. The darkness definitely teases the viewer in wanting to see more of you and what you have to show us.

You did a captivating job with the lighting, are you wearing the sexy black cowboy hat because you did such a good job with the lighting i cant tell if its a black hat or the abu grave prisoner bag on yer head. your lighting is captivating because you are playing with the viewers imagination, showing just enough to entise the audiances imagination to run wild.I would have to say its the bad guys black cowboy hat intriguing everyone to imagn making a bad guy a good guy and your pe pe is lit up just enough to be "hidden" alowing the viewer leaving room for imagining. imagination is powerful and being able to manipulate it is a gift and will make you go far. oh yea did i say beefy too?

Now I'm blushing.... You are doing GREAT!... just keep enjoying what you're doing!
I was actually thinking about you earlier tonight.... I've been doing a lot of night photography this week and REALLY need to use the remote.... and I can't get the GD thing to work right... I kept thinking of how you use it all the time.... I'm missing something.... mine never wants to fire!
ARRRRRRRRRRGH.
but I'll figure it out!

gosh, sorry to hear your having trouble, there are times where mine will not fire, but it usually depends on the posistion of the camera in relation ship to the remote. The remote sensor is on the left of the camera if you are looking at the back. The remote needs to be facing that part of the camera to work effectively. So if the camera is in the vertical posistion on the tripod,, and i am photographing my self with my hands in the air,,,,, the cameras remote sensor must be postitioned to the top,, or if my hands (holding the remote)are going to be at my waist,, i have to reposition the camera on the tripod so that the sensor is now towards the bottom. Not sure if that will help or not. I have found out tho, that you can bounce the signal off blass or a mirror, so if im facing a window, and the camera is behind me, i can point the remote at the window glass and it will trigger the camera with out pointing at it.
The only other prob. ive had is if the remote gets wet (becuse of the water shots i have taken, it will stop working. If you take the battery out, blow in the remote and let it dry over night, it will be fine when dry. I will place it in a small snack, zip-loc bag when shooting in water, it will still trigger the camera thu the plastic.
sorry for the book, it just that i use tha remote all the time, always have spare batteries. I bought 2 Nikon remotes off e-bay last week, $4.95 each and free shipping. Came from Hong Kong but got them in a week. Original Nikon equip. and works great,
Had 2 chuckle when you said you thought of me while shooting at night.. beware,,, its addicting..

You timing was PERFECT!!!! and it made me all warm inside.... (grin).
I JUST finished another night shoot (fireflies).... AND lo-and-behold...... I was aiming the remote at the wrong side of the camera ... ((Me Dummy)). I read the Nikon manual today and realized the IR sensor was on the "Left" as you explained... I had been pointing to the right side of the camera. It worked 'Better' tonight... but I had to hold the remote a few inches from the camera and in just the right position or it wouldn't fire..... I'm Thinking the battery may be low on juice. that is what it "felt" like at least. If I tried to move a few feet away.... NO Go.... had to be inches away and in just the right position. But the good news is... I got it to work!!!! Can't believe the battery dies that fast. I got mine just a couple months ago and have hardly used the remote till the last few days.
Okay... I'm off to see if any of tonight's photos worked.!!!!
take care my man!

cool, glad you got it to work. Mine on average will work up to 25 - 30 feet. I have one remote that the battery last forever, and another that if i dont take the battery out while not in use, it will claim the battery and kill it. Once you figure out whats best for you, i think you will love it,,

Great work with soft shadows and dramatic diagonal lightning. The hidden face really adds to the overall mystery. Enigmatic and absolutely gorgeous!
