Ever since I was 4 or 5, i.e. how old I was when I first watched the opening episodes of the Pokemon anime in English, I have shipped these two like crazy. Technically, I was 3 when the Pokemon franchise started in '96, and despite never getting into the canon games' RPG style capturing, training and battling of wildlife you could carry in your pocket (pocket + monsters = Pokemon), I loved the aesthetics of the show. Locations, character designs, gags, and watching both trainer and Pokemon grow together still get me to turn my head to this day, even though Satoshi/Ash is still 10 after 20+ years of journeying the world.
