I looked at pictures of sad rottweilers for reference.

I tried to portray him not as a crybaby or like .. idunno, I wanted him to look betrayed/hurt.

I\'ve already seen people writing fanfictions about how Bolin is a crybaby or how he\'s so unfair to Mako about it or something. But in the show, the period of time had not been as many days as there was episodes, this was a period of months, so He\'s known Korra for months and took up the guts to ask her out, He told his brother about his intentions/feelings, and to walk into a situation where you\'re going to suprise someone you have such strong feelings for, and to have the person who\'s always looked out for you, and basically parent you, be doing something that would hurt you, and the person you thought the date went so well with hurting you too. It would be overwhelmingly painful.
