Kinda wonky but it's a sketch. Basically how I imagined Sally if she was ever styled by people presently in Sonic Team. A mix of environmentalist hippie clothing, I dream of genie and army colors (I actually was going to do the patterns...got lazy though). So a sketch of Sally. It's been awhile so I really wanted to post something. >.oRelated content

She has a bit of clutter on her (the top of her... top) and I'm not totally sure about what's going on with her hair band (there's something that looks like a hoop earring but it doesn't connect to her ear). Other than that I like the overall design and how it borrows from Ricky's design and young Sally's princess Jasmine outfit while still managing to be its own thing.

This is a nice concept, but I doubt this is how Sally would be portrayed by Sonic Team, this is just stretching it to me.
-and if they did, I would wish I have 50,000 feet so I could shove 500 of them in each of the development team member's asses.

I'm not really sure what you mean by stretching since you're not saying how. That'd be helpful if you feel so strongly about it that you'd stick 500 feet up a development team member's rear 0.o .

Well it may be increeeedibly farfetched if they didn't do much homework on her. Just about everything about the design was from previous official designs of her.
-Sally's hair was largely inspired by her earliest Archie versions and how well it worked with the outfit.
-She's all brown because of her inspiration from Ricki/the use of his design for the version (and because they usually don't use two tones).
-Her outfit was mostly inspired from her younger years. No I can't see SEGA allowing her in a game naked.
Understandably not everyone will agree but to shove 500 feet up each of the development team if something like this ever popped up? Kinda stretching it with the sentiment thar

That Looks awesome!!! But what kind of role would she have in the games? She can't be Sonic's partner and best pal (that's Tails's role) she can't be Sonic's friendly rival and constantly argue with him yet still
be able to be friends (that's Knuckles's role) or a love interest to Sonic (Due to Sega not wanting Sonic to be tied down in a relationship . and besides, being in love with sonic and wanting to win his affection
with her advances is Amy's thing.) Maybe she can be the Relaxed and Nuturing Enviromentalist who belives Violence isn't the answer. But not in a Tikal or Cosmo kind of way. Sort of Hippie Like. Believing her
only Love is the plants and the creatures around us. Also tends to stay in Forests to meditate and "be one with the Forest. I can totally see her being close friends with Big. Claiming there's a special and
Unexplainable aura surrounding him.( She Likes sensing what type of aura they have and pretty open to them of what aura they have. but with Big, she can't just figure out what type of aura he has.) But mostly
hangs out with him because she likes talking with Froggy. She loves animals and chao too! Especially Cream's Chao Cheese. She loves the type of aura their friendship is bringing out. I can really see her being
friends with Amy. She loves her aura, How happy, Cheerful and Energetic it is. But with Sonic and Knuckles, she feels Sonic's aura is too impatient and driven and feels it needs to relax. While Knuckles's aura is
too hard and firm and should loosen up. She often tries different techiniques to "cleanse their energies". Sonic thinks she's a nice girl , but thinks she's pretty wierd and doesn't want to be invloved with her
techniques to "cleanse his energy." He likes who he is and doesn't plan on changing. Knuckles on the other hand can't stand her and thinks she's insulting him and Sonic. While actually she just wants to help
them. Not realizing or thinking they don't want to change who they are. I can also see her being Tails's friendly rival. Not agreeing with his inventions and claiming it's harming the enviroment. But soon realizes
that his inventions are too help the planet, not distroy it , when she meets DR. Eggman using his robots to conquer the world. But she still has a dislike of high tech machines. You can see her hanging out with
Big or meditating in the woods. Her homeplace will be somewhere in Mystic Ruins. I can see her abilities can be being acrobatic, Climbing ability and able to paralyze enemies by hitting their pressure points.

I don't really believe in segmenting characters into "roles" like 'rival' 'love interest' etc. Rather I see what characters contribute in an action story through what their abilities can offer, and what their personalities can contribute to the central character. I could see her and a few other characters following Sonic along as a comrade. Perhaps not as his best friend but still a friend allowed to tag along nonetheless. Her being another love interest probably wouldn't bother me, so long as it's kept to a minimum and Sonic is still left with alternatives for the fans. I'd probably see Sally as an environmentalist myself.
Anyway I don't know if I'd see Sally as completely like a hippie (she can be a bit square for that in the truest sense), I was thinking of in more the "tree hugger" sort of way, and less the "heightened state of awareness" sort of way. Sally's incredibly scientific and by the book. While she probably does try to reason with people before resorting to violence, she's ultimately permitted violence to protect the environment or her people. So she's not a neat fit at all, but I was trying to reference to a subculture that had connotations to environmentalists. One that people may be able to get. So there's a small reference to hippies and it's small because she doesn't fit "hippie" too well IMO.

i understand but shouldn't Sonic have a sort of reason he can't be in a romantic relationship with this version of Sally Like his the other "love intersts" in the games?
Amy- Because her advances make him nervous and uncomfortable

Well, Sally's incredibly independent and that stems a lot from her having lost or been separated from many of her loved ones to war. Any feelings for Sonic I'd imagine to come begrudgingly, and being the value for self-reliance her past has created I'd imagine a committed relationship is something she's be against even if Sonic were the type to want that himself. I say this because Sally broke up with him over this premise in 134 when it dawned on her Sonic's not invincible, he can die and he likes to throw himself in the fray. While they got back together-- it only happened because the comic attempted to avoid this fundamental problem in their relationship. So I don't think we need to really go outside of what's already been established to prevent an official relationship between the two. The groundwork's there.

this is really amazing! she looks so cute! The only thing that would make her design more like the sonic team's designs is to give her bigger feet, but it still looks wonderful the way it is.

Makes sense. She was always rocking the arab/indian princess outfits as a kid. I thought that would've fit in well in secret rings.
