Description This is going to be my prop breakdown of my Staff of Solaria for my Stella Winx Club cosplay.

First off, the staff is made out of a 5 foot 1" diameter white pvc pipe, 2 wooden 12" diameter wreath circles, 2 1/4" diameter wooden rods, and 2 cardboard craft ornaments. All of these supplies can be found at Michael's with the exception of the pvc pipe; I purchased that at the local Lowe's.

The other materials that were used to hold the staff together were gorrila glue, a powerdrill, a nut and bolt, a hand saw, and gorilla duct tape. The paint I used was a light blue spray paint. All of this stuff was purchased at Lowe's as well.

Making the staff's topper:
1. break the rods into quarter segments; just long enough to reach from one side of the wreath to the other.
2. glue the rods in a helix pattern to one of the ornaments.
3. glue the other ornament on top of the rods that were glued to the first ornament (like a sandwich).
4. place the ornament helix centerpiece in the middle of one of the wreaths; line it up until it is perfectly centered.
5. Use the gorilla glue and duct tape to adhere the center piece in between both of the wreaths.
6. When it is completely dry, spray paint it until it is a nice even coat.

Making the staff part:
1. Using a sharpie, mark how wide the top piece is on the pvc.
2. use the hand saw to saw in between those lines to make the divots used to insert the top piece.
3. once the top piece is inserted to the pvc, immobilize it (a friend is awesome for this part) and use the power drill to drill two diagonal holes through the pvc and wreath wood.
4. once the holes are drilled, insert the bolt and screw it on as tight as you can with your hands.
5. once the bolt is secure, put the nut and lug on it to secure it.
6. spray paint until it has an even coating (about 3-4 coats)

AND YOU'RE DONE!

The whole process is fairly easy (once you figure it out) and should only take about 2-3 days of work. If you have anymore questions, let me know. And remember, I do prop commissions

This is a WIP picture. None of my Winx Club cosplays are complete yet. All of the photos from this series I have are prototypes. The completed cosplays should be up and running by AUSA later this year.

Thank you, it's from the Winx Club. It's an Italian cartoon that I grew up watching. If you ever want to watch something so girly it puts MLP to shame, give it a whirl. There are a lot of cool people to cosplay in it if you like fairies and witches.
