Aida Riko

‘Riko, my darling little sister!’ (M/n) exclaimed, throwing his hands in the air as he saw his little sister nearing him. Riko softly glared at his overdramatic greeting, before greeting him as well, a warm smile on her face.

‘(M/n)-niisan, glad you could come today,’ she said. (M/n) shook his head.

‘So formal,’ he mumbled, before pulling the girl in for a hug. ‘Hug your big brother, dammit!’ He let go off his sister when he felt something thumping his head rather roughly. He rubbed his painful head, before looking at the one who had done so.

‘What the hell do you think you’re doing, four-eyes?’ (M/n) asked, glaring at Hyuuga. Hyuuga glared back.

‘What the hell did you think you were doing?’ he asked. ‘Hugging a girl so suddenly. What are you, some sort of pervert?’ (M/n) took Hyuuga’s shirt by his collar.

‘Don’t call me a pervert, punk,’ he growled, glaring harshly at the second-year. He then felt something hit his head, again. He glared at the one who had hit him this time, his glare only softening when he saw Riko glaring at him.

‘(M/n)-niichan, you might want to let go of my captain,’ Riko said in a sickly-sweet voice. (M/n) looked back at Hyuuga, glaring again. ‘(M/n),’ Riko said in a warning tone. (M/n) hesitantly let go of the other boy’s collar. Once he had done so, he looked at Hyuuga a bit more closely.

‘So this is your captain?’ he asked, looking at his sister. Riko nodded.

‘Yes, (M/n) this is Hyuuga, captain of Seirin’s basketball team,’ she stated. She then looked at Hyuuga. ‘Hyuuga, this is (m/n). He’s my older brother.’

‘Right,’ Hyuuga said, before the full sentence got through his thick skull. ‘Wait. Older brother?!’

‘So this is your team?’ (M/n) asked, clearly not impressed as he looked at Seirin’s team.

‘Yes,’ Riko answered, her voice strained, as though she was forcing herself to calm down. Some of the team looked at their coach in confusion, mostly the second-years were confused. They had never seen their coach this way. (M/n) then shrugged.

‘Could be better,’  he stated.

‘HAH?!’ Kagami immediately shouted. The only explanation he received was a blank look from the older brother himself.

‘And who are you to say such a thing?’ Hyuuga asked, disliking the older brother more and more.

‘Should it matter?’ (M/n) questioned. ‘I’m just stating that this team could be better. Some of you guys have some real potential, but what I see now is just a bunch of untrained shitheads. Not used to order. Not a real threat. If you ask me, it is just lazy.’ Riko balled her fist in annoyance. She was ready to punch her older brother.

‘I think our coach has trained us wonderfully,’ Kuroko stated. ‘And you’re just being mean for no reason.’

‘If you think that,’ (M/n) started. He shrugged. ‘Then there is nothing I can do about that.’ He then looked at his little sister with a blank look. ‘Now, little sis. Shouldn’t you whip these guys into shape? Or is not something you can do?’ Riko grinned evilly at her older brother.

‘Watch me,’ she said, before blowing on her whistle.

The practise was harsh and quite frustrating for the basketball players. Not only was (M/n) constantly making snide remarks about Riko’s lacking which pissed them off greatly, but it seemed to piss of Riko too, causing her to make them practise even harder than normally. Yet they did it without complaining, as it would mean losing to the older brother. At the end of the practise they were exhausted. Kuroko was lying on the floor, panting rather harshly.

(M/n) stood up from his place on the benches on the side of the field and walked to Riko.

‘I think that practise was rather successful,’ he stated, looking at the basketball team cleaning up the gym.

‘Certainly,’ Riko answered, her annoyance having disappeared rather suddenly.

‘Do you think they saw through it?’ he asked.

‘That you were just being an absolute prick to get them fired up?’ Riko questioned. ‘I think not.’

‘And you?’ (M/n) questioned.

‘Of course I knew,’ she answered. ‘I realised it immediately after you started. But I imagined what I would feel like if others would say it.’

‘So that is why you looked ready to tear my head off,’ (M/n) mumbled to himself. ‘But aside from that. This team is quite good. I’m proud of you, little sis.’ Riko smiled as (M/n) threw an arm around her, pulling her to his side in some sort of small hug.

‘Thanks,’ she answered. ‘Also thanks for pretending to be a prick to get them fired up.’

‘Don’t mention it,’ (M/n) waved it away. ‘I would do anything for you, little sis.’ Riko grinned. (M/n)’s smile fell at the sight of the grin. ‘What?’ he questioned.

‘You’re cooking tonight, right?’ Riko asked, though she evidently knew the answer.

‘Yes?’ (M/n) answered, though it sounded more like a question.

‘Then let me cook with you,’ Riko said, taking a hold on (M/n)’s arm. ‘You just said you would do anything for me.’ (M/n) started sweating, looking around nervously.

‘Uhm.. Well, would you look at the time. It seems like I need to go home, bye!’ He then pulled his arm away from Riko and sprinted out of the gym to the surprise of the basketball team. Riko looked at him an expression of disbelief on her face.

‘He does realise we live in the same house, doesn’t he?’
