Can I ask you one question though?
For example.. like for step #5, how does the shade on the neck not go over the line..? is there some certain setting to do that...?

I know you posted your comment several months ago, but in reply to your question, it's possible that this was done on a separate layer with the opacity locked. Locking opacity makes it so that you can only edit areas that have been colored in.
