I find the new style quite appealing, although, a private beta may have avoided people trying to figure out why the style changed over night twice. Also, the tabs don't seem to do the design justice, as they're kinda blocky, or un-antialiased. (I've actually made a userstyle on my userstyles.org account that can fix this).

This is awesome!
It's not loading the thumbs in the title of one of my rooms (but it's working for other ones... ), and there are few little things here and there that aren't spacing themselves correctly on my screen --- but this is Amazing!
Nicely done!
Congratulations on the DD!

okay, basically, it's to change the look of the chat on dA. click the chat link at the top of the page, and the page styles change to the older themes, this is my rendition of what i think the next version of chat could look like.

Might I suggest, although you have probably got this before, that you lose the wasted space, such as all that grey around the bottom, and sides, also the red when people are chatting in other tabs is too dark, and lastly, do we really need the DEVIANTART thing at the top, it is kind of a waste of chatting space, going for form over functionality.

Oh really? Guess I should have looked harder...although, SH looks like it still has alot of that "grey space".

hokay, also, maybe I should check the fixes first, but I have to scroll down once every time I go on, so that I can see the bottom line, if you understand what I mean.

yeah, currently the height is set using a percentage, you just need to tweak it 5-10%

I'm going to give this a try, but hopefully it won't conflict with all the scripts I have installed.

you can always edit it. I'm currently looking for a developer, so if you know someone who is damn good at css, and will to take control of the chat styles, get them to give me a ping.

I'm not that great with writing CSS, only editing it. :\ But this one seems to be giving me the biggest trouble ever.
I'm trying to move where it says, "deviantARTchat Beta 0.6 | =joysoftruth" vertically without moving the menu image, but I just can't seem to move one without moving the other. :\ I've tried everything I could think of, and even asked a couple gurus I know, and all they could suggest was to use seperate divs, but I've no clue how to seperate them. Perhaps you might know how to do this?

joysoftruth In reply to miksago [2007-10-13 18:10:27 +0000 UTC]
Well, that's what I'm saying. text-indent only moves it horizontally, which is great and all, but if I change the padding, the menu image moves with it no matter what. I've already tried seperating it into two seperate divs, so I'm just kind of lost. :\

You still have old versions of this in your gallery. Do you think it would be a good idea to remove those to save confusion?

eh?
i only separated out each style, to make it easier for people to find the right one they want.

Won't journal tweaks ruin people's CSS?

miksago In reply to BoffinBrain [2007-04-08 00:18:35 +0000 UTC]
no, these are for the journal center, instead of have the text: "delete" i've simply changed it to the icon found in the defualt message center, it looks quite a bit tidy-er now.

It will work fine with Half-Mode, if you simply state it as thus:
a[href*="my.deviantart.com/journal/delete/"] {...}

But yes, it does interfere with other items in the message centre. We'll see...
