Description Downloaded an absolutely beautiful Labrys MMD model. I just had to test her out.
I loved playing as Labrys in Persona 4 Arena (looking forward to Persona 4 Arena: Ultimax).

I got bored and this is the result of the boredom.
So, I must axe you a question; what do you think? //shot

Admittedly, I think that the Grimm in RWBY are relatively similar to the Shadows in the Persona series. Except the Grimm don't appear in planes of existence that normal people generally can't enter (and the Grimm often don't look as gruesome or as weird as Shadows).

Maybe Ruby vs Labrys seems like Ruby would need some exceptional luck, but Pyrra on the other hand.... Hello Polarity semblance and bu-bye android.Β  I am so excited Season 3 of RWBY starts Oct 24th

Oh and before I forget awesome picture!

Labrys wins. Ruby's just a squishy little human. One clean hit and she's split in half. Plus Labrys doesn't get tired. So even if we did Death Battle this up and give everyone increased resistance so it's an actual fight, Ruby would eventually get tired. Labrys can also use a persona, which doesn't count as outside help as it's her heart taken physical form. So she's got both long and close range to work with. And if you've ever been hit by her all out attack, you'd know that her aerial game is top notch, able to string together combos and then slam her opponent into the ground before you can say "You cheap bitch!". Ruby also needs to reload her weapon when she uses its gun mode. And she also needs to stick it into the ground to avoid being blown away if she was still using the scythe-mode. And we can also assume that Labrys has an Orgia mode much like Aigis (though it was probably left out of the game to avoid her being even more overpowered), further increasing her abilities. Ruby has also been shown to be quite clumbsy even in battle, and is fascinated by machinery. This would probably distract Ruby from the fight (most likely after Labrys activated her Orgia mode, because that's when she's in top shape. meaning it's a perfect opportunity for her to examine Labrys, however, her paralysis and tranquilizer rounds wouldn't to much against Labrys, seeing as she's a robot and all.) and give Labrys the opening she needs to decapitate our little red hooded heroine. And that's not even taking into account her chain arm abilities and instant kill. I could go on forever, but you get the idea.

That all is very logical. I definitely agree with every word. In all honesty, even though Labrys was rather powerful in the game, I was rather disappointed that they left out her Orgia mode.

Yeah, that sucks. But did you REALLY want her to be completely unstoppable? Sure it's fine if you're playing as her, but you're going to regret that Orgia mode once you're on the receiving end.Β

Of course, its just as well they left it out of the game. My initial disappointment went as soon as I fought her for the first time.

Same. Because...that fucking all out combo!

Miku-Nyan02 In reply to Billybobjoeman [2015-09-28 01:31:48 +0000 UTC]

The first time I fought her was actually when I set her as a practice dummy (and had the settings for the practice dummy to fight back) while I was trying to get the hang of Naoto's controls. Those practice rounds were brutal.

I fought her on hard mode first time around. (because normal's too easy). I got destroyed.

Miku-Nyan02 In reply to Billybobjoeman [2015-09-28 06:27:10 +0000 UTC]

Holy crap, hard mode?
I sometimes struggle with even normal mode. That could probably be because I'm more adept at strategy than senselessly beating up a character.

Ah. Yeah I'm a button masher. I find a combo that works and then spam the hell out of it.

Billybobjoeman In reply to Miku-Nyan02 [2015-09-28 22:23:50 +0000 UTC]

Yeah. All out combo, Big Gamble, Attack, defend, repeat. That's my main strategy when using Yu. And in other news, I just beat Labrys on Hell difficulty.

Billybobjoeman In reply to Miku-Nyan02 [2015-09-28 22:30:29 +0000 UTC]

That all out combo really helped. (I usually use two light attacks, two strong attacks and then Big Gamble.) And not once did I use an instant kill. How the fuck did I manage that?!

If I could I'd win in seconds. But then Elizabeth's instant kill would have to be upgraded to the next level of Megido, Megidoladyne.

Miku-Nyan02 In reply to Billybobjoeman [2015-09-30 15:54:30 +0000 UTC]

Yeah. That would be kind of unfair for the opponent.

Billybobjoeman In reply to Miku-Nyan02 [2015-10-01 00:34:01 +0000 UTC]

Indeed. I mean we saw what Lucifer could do with it in Devil Survivor (the only game Megidoladyne appears btw). Now imagine Elizabeth with that power. There's no escaping it.

Miku-Nyan02 In reply to Billybobjoeman [2015-10-01 05:46:12 +0000 UTC]

I think if Elizabeth with that power would be a little scary.

Billybobjoeman In reply to Miku-Nyan02 [2015-10-02 01:13:34 +0000 UTC]

Oh for sure. Especially seeming that it can take out a level 99 team if used enough times. Why? It gets stronger every time! *shudders*

Billybobjoeman In reply to Miku-Nyan02 [2015-10-06 05:35:15 +0000 UTC]

Oh hell yeah! Though, the lack of a drain skill makes the game much harder, because my MP reserves are constantly in danger. Hell, I'd be okay if we got something like Magic Yang, which reduces the amount of MP you use by 1/2. But no. We just need to stock up on soul drops and snuff souls.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Miku-Nyan02 In reply to Billybobjoeman [2015-10-06 06:03:19 +0000 UTC]

I liked the challenge there.

Billybobjoeman In reply to Miku-Nyan02 [2015-10-08 02:26:26 +0000 UTC]

The only thing I really don't like is that the items don't replenish nearly enough MP. I guess that's so you don't just rush through a dungeo in one go, but it's still bullshit.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Miku-Nyan02 In reply to Billybobjoeman [2015-10-08 07:53:02 +0000 UTC]

Personally, I like the challenge of having to limit my usage of Persona skills and the usage of soul drops and snuff souls.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Billybobjoeman In reply to Miku-Nyan02 [2015-10-08 13:15:09 +0000 UTC]

Sure, it's challenging, but I always use a magic-based team. My MP can't handle constantly needing to be used.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Miku-Nyan02 In reply to Billybobjoeman [2015-10-08 13:38:13 +0000 UTC]

Your approach to it sounds different to mine then.
I often change my team to suit the situation.

Billybobjoeman In reply to Miku-Nyan02 [2015-10-09 08:09:58 +0000 UTC]

Miku-Nyan02 In reply to Billybobjoeman [2015-10-11 11:04:12 +0000 UTC]

Miku-Nyan02 In reply to Billybobjoeman [2015-10-11 22:33:30 +0000 UTC]

It's my approach to things like that. XD
If I'm stumped, I just go around, making sure all the team is roughly the same level before I go back to and hopefully solve the problem.

Thanks. Though he seems to be luck based as far as I can tell. You've just got to hope he changes the atmosphere to something that'll work to your advantage.

Then stay vigilant for any changes. Kind of goes without saying, but if there's anything that could work to your advantage, exploit the hell out of it.
