sure he has spent the most time with Desmond with ac2, acb and acr. Now he cant let him go with the next assassin hehe
Altair holding him back saying "let him go" because he has dealt with loss of Desmond before when Ezio stepped in his shoes ^^

Looks like it runs in the blood. The Ibn-La'Ahads, the Auditore, and the Kenways all becoming Mentor or de facto Mentor, in Connor's case, later leading to William Miles being Mentor.

Ezio is actually Connor's ancestor. Obviously if the three families remained seperated, you just can't go away without marrying the other family. It just does not work. So, possibly the Kenways were created when one member from the House of Auditore married another person and formed the Kenway family and formed Desmond's paternal line.
