As the sunset of Shion's face sets peacefully, it hides more intellectual intentions underneath. This is symbolized by the single sparkle illuminating from her magnificent forehead.

She looks directly to the viewer, or perhaps offscreen, showing that she is indeed aware of other worlds, other existences, and ponders them carefully in her contemplations.

Her two female companions, which symbolize the patriarchy and the patriarchal institution of the harem, gaze on in wonder and surprise as they start to experience the enlightenment of Shion. Alas, they only see Shion's back, symbolizing how far behind they are from understanding the truth and seeing worlds outside of their own. This, undoubtedly, shows that the feminine mystery of reproduction (represented by Shion and her forehead) is ever creating, while the patriarchy is ever suppressing, but still desperately trying to press on in the name of "progress". Alas, they fail, and they will always fail as long as they see Shion's back instead of her forehead.

This colorful scene, full of many vivid, vibrant colors (with red menstrual blood, blue water, green grass, pink granite, and yellow sand evoking very earthy feelings) is contrasted sharply with the white background upon which it is set. This too, suggests the contrast between the masculine and feminine.
