To be honest, I am glad that you lost.
The theme of Pikachu beating Raichu is way too overdone, and let's be honest here, Raichu is the underdog, always trapped in Pikachu's shadow.
Also, I know that speed/agility and efforts are important, but having bigger and more durable body and having 20 more base speed should mean something, so if two atheletes of equal skills and determination face each other in battle, the one with stronger and faster body should be the victor. (If evolution isn't benefitial, what's the point of it?)
The sad part however is that in the show, Pikachu always win rematches, so I fear that this will be no exception. Raichu is never allowed to win twice in a row against a Pikachu, a sad fate indeed.

I dunno about normal pokemon fights but in a boxing match a Raichu should always win, you're right.

I suppose if anything, I would be very reactionary to side-step swipes and capitalize on mistakes. I know that's boxing 101 but I don't know how styles work. >w>

“Capitalize on mistakes”? That would probably make you an Out-Boxer.
As for me, myself, my knowledge on boxing is also limited—most of what I know about boxing styles comes from watching the “Balrog vs TJ Combo” episode of Death Battle followed by reading up about them online. From what I can understand, Out-Boxers are the swift, slippery, evasive type who are skilled at counterattacking. Meanwhile, Sluggers are the slow heavy hitters and Swarmers go for rushdown tactics. It’s actually pretty interesting when you think about it.
For further reference, Balrog (from Street Fighter) is a Slugger, TJ Combo (from Killer Instinct) is an Out-Boxer, and Little Mac (pretty sure you know where he’s from) is a Swarmer.

Just watch out for Sluggers—according to the Triangle Theory, Sluggers beat Swarmers. (But Out-Boxers beat Sluggers. And Swarmers beat Out-Boxers)
