Description
Hey! This was a shitload of fun to makeI was thinking about how creepy it would be if in the future, people start neglecting their real bodies to exclusively live in downloaded indistinguishably real simulations. There would be all kinds of interesting philosophical debates to have, and loads of conflicting opinions on the technology. It's an idea I might explore more, especially if people dig it.
Hope you like, please let me know what you think!

The idea is really comparable to that of the Matrix, even to the looks of the person 'linked' up to some machine.
Nevertheless, the execution is great. I love the colourful mood in contrast with the darker part. Good work!

I just love it! The softness of the coloring, the composition and everything else that has to do with the technique of the illustration. And the theme of it is also just awesome!! I really like sic-fi, and the philosophical aspects that often comes with it.

Awesome piece reminds me of 2 things: Matrix and Surrogates the latter of which is more to the core of what you're speaking to. Love the colors!

Sure there wuld be GREAT BIG UNIVERS-LIKE discussion about whether it's wrong or if god could ever allw such things ( followd by "des god even eist??!!") and are there any neg effects on your own body and so on and so on.
My personal opinion: your own life. chances are there's sth after death but hey, we do live NOW that's why it is all yours to decide if you do simulate a life or not *shrug*

an interesting concept Miles. definitely would be intriguing but i would probably let myself go to the deep end where i myself will become indistinguishable haha. i'd say make a few more paintings revolving around this idea!

Hey Miles I've been following you for a while now on DeviantArt and I just wanted to tell you that your art is so cool and I really look up to you
I'm only 14 and I hope that one day I'll be as good as you are in art. Keep it up!
Also, what programme do you use for all these amazing drawings?

Have you seen Surrogates og Gamer? They are some creapy movies, and yes the concept at all, but i cant see how that would work in the real world. I mean with food and life at all.. But this is ONE great painting! Its breautiful, and i really love the abstract colours that combine the two sides! Your style is like usual beautiful. <3

It's an idea I often think of also, and it's as terrifying as it is beautiful. A series of paintings illustrating the good and the bad of it would have a lot of potential, imo <3
Amazingly executed, as always.

This is gorgeous! Lovely colors, nice composition and great attention to detail. The concept is fascinating, too.
I think they already found a solution though, something about nano-technology doing body maintenance and super-human regeneration, it was very interesting.

This painting is just so interesting! Without reading your description, I kind of gathered some of what you said just from the image and it made me really want to know more. I definitely dig it! The rainbow like stuff looks like gasoline that spills when it's on the ground and you can see a bunch of warped colors, such a cool effect man, wicked awesome.
Just one little critique...I feel like there should be more contrast in the tone to make those figures pop a little more so your eye moves towards them. It feels like your eye is guided towards the center (and if that's what you want, I understand how that works too). If you drop it down to grayscale you'll see what I mean. However you're a much better artist than I am so I could very well be wrong about this, haha just wanted to help if I can

Until I read your description, I interpreted this as completely different. I thought the point was that the man in the bed hooked up to the machines was remembering himself with the woman. Where once she had provided life and vitality, now it was only the machines keeping him alive. Funny how that works.
