Friday, 8-8-08 after a brief rainstorm.I was feeling kinda down (and in some pain after I had a few scary-looking moles removed) when I looked out my boyfriend's living room windows and saw this!! one end was at the end of his driveway, the other end was in his sister's driveway (about 300 yards or so). It was so small, but so bright and beautiful.
Did I have my camera?? NOoOoOooo! But, his mom had one on the dining room table, so I borrowed it for 10 beautiful minutes.
The brightest colors I'd ever seen in a rainbow. Maybe because it was so close?Submitted in the Colors of Nature contest at

During a dog obedience demo in Ellis Park (York Beach, Maine) one year we had a little cloudburst. We kept on with the demonstration but when the sun came out....OMG! I SO wish I'd had a camera! I woulda KILLED for a camera. There was the brightest, biggest DOUBLE rainbow I'd seen in my life...stretching over the parkway. It was so bright and vivid it hurt to see it! Holy Cow....despite the crowd, I think I was the only one who really appreciated it. This photo brings back that memory. Thank you.
